B.Sc. Course in Nursing:
BSc. in Nursing is a 4-year Undergraduate course, this course can only be pursued by candidates who have opted for Medical Stream in 10+2. This course provides you with the training and expertise for Nursing Practices This course is one of the top nursing courses after 12th. Many colleges in India offer admission to B.Sc. Nursing Course is based on merit or various national level, state level, and university level entrance exams. NEET UG is the most popular entrance examination, many reputed medical colleges and institutes grant admission in the BSc. Nursing course based on the NEET-UG entrance examination. The candidates who have completed their 10+2 from Medical Stream with an aggregate of 45% marks from a recognized board are eligible to pursue this course. The Total fee of the course usually varies from Rs 1.25 lacs to Rs 3.05 Lacs. A BSc. in Nursing graduate can apply for the various job positions of Staff Nurse, Deputy Nursing Superintendent, Military Nurse, Industrial Nurse, Nursing Supervisor or Ward Sister, Teacher of Nursing, etc.
Post Basic B.Sc Nursing is a 2-year Undergraduate level course that aims to impart an understanding of advanced Nursing. This course is one of the Top Nursing Courses After 12th. After Pursuing this course, the graduate candidates become eligible to make independent decisions in various Emergencies where they may need to provide preventive or rehabilitative services to the patient. The candidate who wants to pursue this course must hold a Diploma in GNM Nursing (General Nursing & Midwifery) and must have passed 10+2 preferably from the Science stream. Moreover, the candidate must be a registered Nurse/Midwife or equivalent with any of the State Nursing Registration Councils. The candidates who are looking forward to pursuing this course must fulfil the required eligibility criteria and may also have to appear in an entrance exam. Many medical institutes and colleges conduct entrance tests to offer admission in this course. AIIMS Nursing Entrance Exam, NAIET, JPIMER are some of the most popular Post Basic BSc. Nursing Exams. The Course Fee of Post Basic BSc. in Nursing can vary from Rs 35,000 to Rs Rs 1.05 Lacs. After getting a Post Basic BSc. Nursing degree, A candidate can apply for various Nurse job positions such as Nursing Instructor, Registered Nurse, Staff Nurse, Rehabilitation Specialist, Nurse Manager, Critical Care Nurse, Community Health Nurse, etc.
It is a 3-year Diploma Course which imparts the knowledge of various concepts like Fundamentals of Nursing, Community Diseases, Medical and Surgical Operations, Administrating and Ward Management, etc. To pursue this course, The students need to pass the 10+2 examination from any stream with at least 50% aggregate marks in the board examinations. Also, the candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of Experience in General Nursing & Midwifery. Those who don’t have any experience in GNM can also pursue this course if they possess a Certificate in Nursing for at least 6 to 9 months as prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council. Most Medical Colleges do not conduct any entrance test to offer admission in this course, the admissions are totally merit-based, however, if you want to get admission to a reputed college, then you need to score a minimum of 55% in 10+2. This course will make you eligible to apply for the job positions of Nursing In-Charge, Nursing Assistant, Head Nursing Services, Emergency Nurses, etc. The average fee of the course varies from Rs 20,000 to Rs 1.85 Lacs.
GNM (General Nursing Midwifery) is a 3.5 years Diploma level course. This course can be pursued by a candidate who has passed the 12th board examinations with Science Stream. This course includes 3 years of learning and 6 months of mandatory internship. Candidates who want to pursue their career in the Nursing Field can pursue this course as this course is considered as a stepping stone in the career of nursing. This course helps you to gain the skills to deal with patients and assist the doctors by providing First aid, Checking Blood Pressure, monitor oxygen levels, and pulse rates, etc. The candidate who wishes to get a Diploma in GNM must have passed class 12th from any stream with English as a mandatory subject and must have scored a minimum of 40% aggregate marks in board examinations. Many reputed colleges offer admissions to GNM Nursing Courses based on the entrance exams conducted by the University or College. Some of the most popular GM Entrance exams are AIIMS Nursing Entrance Exam, JIPMER Nursing Entrance exam, BHU Nursing Entrance Exam, etc. Pursuing a GNM Course can cost you from Rs 20,000 to Rs 85,000 depending on the college.
Auxiliary Nursing & Midwifery (ANM) is a 2-year Diploma Certificate level Course that also includes 6 months of internship. The objective of this course is to impart knowledge about various subjects of nursing such as Primary Medical Care, First Aid, Community Health Problems, Infection, and Immunization, etc. The minimum qualification required to pursue a Nursing course is passing 10+2 examinations (in any stream) from a recognized board. Most of the Medical Colleges offer direct admissions into an ANM Course whereas some colleges conduct Common Entrance Test to offer admission into the Course. After Completing a 2-year ANM Course, a candidate can apply for various Nursing Job positions such as Home Care Nurse, Staff Nurse, ICU Nurse, nursing educator, Nursing Tutor, Infection Control Nurse, Healthcare Nurse, Certified Nursing Assistant, etc. The average Course fee of an ANM Diploma course is Rs 20,000 to Rs 75,000.
