WBPSC Exam Pattern 2024

The WBPSC Exam will be held in 3 stages: Prelims, Main and Personality test. Candidates have to clear each tier of the exam to qualify for the next tier. Only those who clear the Mains of the WBPSC recruitment 2024 will be called for the Personality test.

WBPSC Prelims Exam Pattern

The prelims consist of one objective type paper based on General Studies.
The total number of questions are 200.
The total marks of the exam is 200.
The total duration of the Prelims exam is 2 hours 30 minutes.
For each wrong answer 1 marks will be deducted.
The Prelims exam is only a screening test for the Mains and the scores will not be added to the final result of WBPSC 2024.

WBPSC Main Exam Pattern:

The Main Exam will consist of six compulsory papers and one optional subject with two papers. The optional paper is meant for candidates who are applying for Group A and/or Group B. The optional paper will be chosen by the candidates from the provided list.
Each paper of the Main exam, compulsory or optional will consist of 200 marks.
Each paper will have a duration of 3 hours.
The optional subjects will consist of 2 papers.
The two compulsory subjects- Paper I and Paper II will have essay type answers.
The remaining 4 papers will have objective type questions with multiple choice answers.

WBPSC Interview Exam Pattern 2024:

All the candidates who qualify the Main exam will be selected for the Personality test for the WBPSC recruitment 2024. The Personality Test will determine the different levels of personality of the candidates like their IQ level, sharpness, body language,level of social and moral understanding, and moral liabilities. The Personality Test will also determine the administrative and human characteristics of the candidate.
