UPSC IFS Exam 2024 Information

The Union Public Service Commission, UPSC is all set to conduct Indian Forest Service (IFS) exams 2024 on 26th, 28th, 29th, 30th, November and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd December in two sessions.

What is the UPSC IFS Exam?

UPSC IFS is an All-Indian competitive exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. It is one among the other two central examinations that the UPSC conducts every year namely IAS and IPS. This examination is a crucial process for selecting candidates for different forestry domains. The history of this examination goes way back to the British Raj in the 1860s. 

UPSC IFS 2024

UPSC has released its dates for the upcoming Mains examination for the year 2024, which is scheduled to be conducted on the 26th, 28th,29th, and 30th of November and the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd of December. UPSC IFS 2024 is the best examination for candidates who have graduated either from animal husbandry & veterinary science botany chemistry geology mathematics statistics physics zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or forestry and engineering.

The dates of the UPSC IFS mains 2024 exams were released on 31st October 2024. Candidates of Indian nationality and belonging to the Age group of 21 to 31 years can apply for this examination. UPSC regularly releases important and related information on its site that is https://upsc.gov.in/. A candidate must keep a regular watch, to stay updated with information related to the examinations.  

The UPSC prelims examination was conducted on 28th May 2024. A candidate who wants to apply for the Indian Forest Services must first clear the Civil Services Examinations (prelims). Only after that can an enthusiast go for the next stage of the Indian Forest Services Written and Interview Examination.

UPSC IFS 2024 Important Exam Dates 

UPSC IFS mains examination is to be officially held from 26th November 2024. An enthusiast has exactly a week to prepare themselves for the upcoming examination. One is also advised to keep a check on the official website of UPSC that is - https://upsc.gov.in/.

The last date to register for the 2024 UPSC IFS Examination was on 21st February 2024. The application process started on 1st February 2024. Interested and eligible candidates were to apply between the given date and time.

Dos and Don’ts on the Exam Day

  • Adhere to the reporting timing for the examination to avoid any confusion or chaos.
  • Make an effort to adhere to the clothing code listed in the exam rules.
  • Don't bring any electronic gadgets, including watches, calculators, phones, etc. to the exam site.
  • Bring only a ballpoint or blue pen to the exam place; do not bring any food or stationary.
  • In the examination hall, have your admit card and any necessary documents listed on the admit card.
  • Steer clear of fancy or jeweled products.

  • Create an appropriate schedule and allot the necessary amount of time to every topic and segment.
