Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission

The UPPSC or the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission is a state agency that the Constitution of India has granted a charter. It is authorized to conduct the Civil Services Examination for entry-level to various Civil Services of Uttar Pradesh. The commission is regulated by the Uttar Pradesh Public Services Commission Regulation, 1976.

In some UPPSC exams, Hindi has substantial weightage forex - ARO/RO, has a separate paper in Hindi which consists of 60 questions that must be completed in 1 hour.

UPPSC Notification 2024

In the UPPSC Upper subordinate exam, the number of candidates opting for English as a medium for writing is less than compared to those who write the mains paper in Hindi. Cracking the UPPSC exam is very easy if you have already prepared for UPSC because the pattern of question paper is similar and many questions repeat from previous years.

Important Update: UPPSC has postponed the UPPSC main examination 2024 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the current lockdown in the country. The commission issued a notice that the exam will not be postponed and the registration is open till 19 April 2024 which is one day before the examination.

The various functions that are exercised by the UPPSC include giving advice in various fields to the UP Government.

Hence, in short, the UPPSC Exam is conducted to recruit State government functionaries in provincial Civil Services and other State Services. Once selected they are posted to various State Departments such as Land Records, Land Revenues, and General Administration. UPSSC: Overview

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission came into existence in the month of  April of the year 1937 with the main aim of recruiting candidates for various civil services and posts in the State. The superior Civil Services posts during the British Raj were occupied by the Britishers themselves. One of the major demands of the Indian public was the extension of the Civil Services post to recruit Indians and natives as well.
