SSC JE Exam Pattern 2025:

The SSC JE Examination is divided into two papers Paper I and Parer II. The first paper is an objective type test that consists of multiple-choice questions conducted online whereas Paper II is conducted via offline mode and it is the descriptive type where candidates will have to describe the given problem or statement. In this article, we are providing details about the latest SSC JE Exam Pattern 2025 and what type of questions candidates can expect in the Paper I and Paper II examination.

The SSC JE Pattern is organized by the Staff Selection Commission which is responsible for administering the exam body of the SSC JE Exam for the recruitment of fresh candidates for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Quantity Surveying & Contracts). The time duration of the examination will be 120 minutes and the paper will have 0.25 % negative marking for the wrong attempts.

SSC JE Exam Pattern 2025:

SSC JE Exam has two stages:

Paper-1- It has two Shifts, Both the shifts are Computer Based examinations.

Paper-2- It is Pen and paper-based examination.

In the Paper 1 and Paper 2 Exam for the general engineering, the applicants are required to attempt the section as per the option chosen by the candidate while filling the registration form.

Negative Marking

  • As per the latest Exam Pattern, for every incorrect answer there, will be 0.25% negative marking in Paper I.
  • If the maximum mark allotted for a question is 1, then answering it incorrectly would incur a penalty of 1/4th marks.
  • If a question is left unanswered there will be no negative marking.

The SSC JE Exam Pattern 2025 is highly competitive as a large number of candidates participate in this examination. So the candidates appearing in the SSC Exam must be aware of Exam Pattern and must have a fine understanding of SSC JE Exam Syllabus and selection procedure. SSC or Staff Selection Commission conducts this examination for recruiting candidates of Junior Engineers from the branch of Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical. As per the latest SSC JE Exam Notification, the Exam Dates of SSC JE Paper-I have been revised and are now scheduled to 27-30 October 2025.

For all the branches the examination will be conducted in two phases and candidates must be aware of these phases and stages for the selection procedure. With the help of an exam, pattern candidates will be aware of the marking scheme, time duration, and get the proper knowledge of the selection procedure. With the help of knowing these candidates can easily prepare a study plan to score good marks in the examination.

Important Points To Remember While Giving SSC JE Exam 2025 Paper-I:

  • For all the three streams the General Intelligence & Reasoning and General Awareness section will be common.
  • While attempting the General Engineering section, the candidates are required to choose the section as per their branches (either Civil, Mechanical or electrical).
  • Candidates are required to complete the Paper-I within 2 hours (120 min).
  • There will be 0.25% of negative marking which means 0.25% of marks will be deducted for every wrong attempt.
  • 1 mark will be awarded for every right answer.
  • The sheet will be evaluated by the board so the candidates are required to follow the instructions as provided by the exam conducting authority.

Important Points To Remember While Giving SSC JE Exam 2025 Paper-II:

  • Paper-II will consist of three parts under the General Engineering and candidates are required to attempt the examination as per their branch.
  • The answer sheet will be evaluated by the SSC so candidates must make sure that they don’t attempt the wrong section.
  • The time duration of the examination will be 2 hours.
  • There will be negative marking and a 0.25% mark will be deducted for every wrong attempt.
