About LNMU:

Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU) is a public university in the state of Bihar, India. The university began in the year of 1972, in the village of Darbhanga, but in the year 1975, three years after, the university campus shifted to Raj Darbhanga town, in Mithila an ancient cultural region of North India. LNMU also has a residential campus equipped with modern technologies and facilities and support services for its students and academic and administrative staff. At present, the LNMU has around sixty-seven colleges under its aegis, out of which 25 affiliated colleges and 43 constituent colleges. The LMNU has been accredited by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council)  with a ‘B’ Grade.

The LNMU also includes a student union, namely, Mithila Student Union. It is a non-political student organization through which the development of Mithila and the Mithilites. Some of the main agendas of the student organization such as reform in the education system of the Mithila Region and the relevant universities. 

LNMU Entrance Exam 2024:

The LNMU Exam also known as CET (Common Entrance Test) is conducted for students who wish to gain admission in any one of the courses offered by the university in various streams such as undergraduate and postgraduate or even diploma. The LNMU exam dates are released on the official website of the university and candidates must stay in touch with the notifications regarding their specific course.    

The registration process starts in the month of May after the students receive their 12th-grade board results. The candidates who are interested in any of the courses offered by the university must first create a User ID from the official website of the university. The registration and documents are uploaded as a next step after which the candidates pay the registration fee and complete the registration process. After the entire process is completed, the students will be given the dates on which the examination for their particular subjects will be held. Once completed, the results will be released and shortlisted candidates will be called for the final interview at given the final admission letter.   

The university offers examinations for many courses, we have listed below different courses and the entrance exam the university accepts along with the specific LMNU Exam the candidates can appear for.

For candidates interested in gaining admission in Ph.D courses, the university conducts PAT Ph.D Admission Test which is later followed by an interview for candidates who have scored well in the entrance exam.

​​​​​​​For candidates interested in admission in any B.Tech or B. In Tech specialization, the candidates are required to produce a combined score of both CAT and EAT, that is Combined Admission Test and Engineering Entrance Test, which is also conducted by LMNU and later followed by a counseling session.

​​​​​​​For candidates interested in the MBBS program, a valid NEET UG score is considered by the university. While students interested in the MD or MS programs are required to produce a valid NEET PG score for admission to the university. 

​​​​​​​Candidates interested in pursuing B.ed from the university after the completion of their undergraduate degrees must have to qualify for the CET (Common Entrance Test) conducted by the university, which is later followed by a round of interviews.

​​​​​​​The university also conducts the CET (Common Entrance Test) for candidates interested in pursuing MCA from the university.

​​​​​​​Candidates who are interested in pursuing the coveted MBA program, need to appear for the national-level entrance exam called the CMAT or MAT to be able to gain admission to the university.

​​​​​​​Whatever the course you wish to pursue from the LNMU university, the entrance exam and the registration form for the same will be available on the official website of the university after the declared dates. Candidates who live near, they can also collect the registration forms from the university’s admission office themselves and submit the duly filled and completed registration form to the relevant office.   

Candidates who wish to pursue any course through the distance mode of education can do so by registering themselves in the university database and appearing for the selected entrance exam in the examination center allotted by the university. 

The CET (Combined Entrance Test) which is the university-level entrance exam for a majority of the courses offered by the institute, is about 2.5 hours long and consists of 150 multiple-choice questions. The paper generally consists of 50 questions from each of the relevant fields of the subjects, for example, for candidates pursuing a science degree, the 150 questions will include 50 questions from Physics, 50 questions from Chemistry, and 50 questions from Mathematics or Biology. 

Candidates who pass the test and are shortlisted will be called for a round of counseling or interview as is the case with each degree. Each and every document and official document are released and notified online on the official website.
