KVS Eligibility Criteria 2025

KVS or the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan will release the vacancy notification for the teaching and non-teaching posts on the official website. Candidates who are interested in applying for their desired post must check the eligibility criteria on the official website.

Total number of attempts

There is no limit to the number of attempts of a KVS aspirant. Candidates can appear for the KVS exam as many times they want to and improve their scores in the exam. It is mandatory that the candidates must meet the eligibility requirements for the post in order to appear for the KVS exam.

Nationality

According to the KVS Eligibility criteria, candidates must be a citizen of India and a resident of any State of India. The citizenship of the candidate must have valid documental evidence like the Aadhar Card/Voter ID Card that has been issued by the Government of India.

Age Limit

Candidates must check the maximum and minimum age limit for the KVS recruitment 2025. The age limit for the candidates will be different for the different posts and it is very important to check the age limit before applying for a particular post.

Age Relaxation Criteria of KVS 2025

• Candidates belonging to reserved categories like SC/ST will have an age relaxation of 5 years.
• Candidates belonging to the OBC categories will have an age relaxation of 3 years.
• Women candidates will get an age relaxation of 10 years.
• Candidates working with Public Sector undertakings, Autonomous/Statutory bodies will not be entitled to age relaxation.
• Candidates who are Ex-servicemen belonging to the General category and applying for the Group B posts are entitled to 3 years age relaxation after deduction of Military service starting from the actual age on the last date of application.
• Candidates who are Ex-servicemen of the OBC category have an age relaxation of 6 years after deduction of Military service starting from the actual age on the last date of application.
• Candidates who are Ex-servicemen of the SC/ST category have an age relaxation of 8 years after deduction of Military service starting from the actual age on the last date of application.
•  PwD(persons with disabilities)  category candidates both men and women have an age relaxation as follows: Unreserved- 10 years, SC/ST- 15 years, OBC-13 years.
• Candidates who are domiciled of the State of Jammu and Kashmir from January 1980 to December 1989 are entitled to age relaxation of 5 years.
• Women candidates (except those applying for Principal and Vice-Principal posts) are entitled to age relaxation of 10 years.

Academic Qualification

KVS Eligibility for Principal/Vice Principal

Candidates must have Master’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized Institute and B.Ed. Candidates must have relevant work experience.

KVS PRT Eligibility 2025

• Candidates must qualify the Central Teacher Eligibility Test Paper- I conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education.

• Candidates must complete their 10+2 exams from a recognized Board with 50% aggregate along with any of the following criteria:

•  2 year Diploma in Elementary education 

                                          Or

• 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education

                             Or 

• 2 year Diploma in Education(Special education)

                              Or 

• Candidates must complete their Graduation with 50% aggregate and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from an NCTE recognized Institute. These candidates will be directly appointed as teachers from class I-V on the condition that they undergo a six month bridge course in Elementary Education recognized by NCTE within 2 years of their appointment as a Primary Teacher.

• Candidates must have proficiency in teaching in Hindi medium and English medium.

• Candidates must have basic knowledge of Computer applications.

KVS TGT Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must complete the Bachelor Degree course from a recognized University with minimum 50% aggregate.

• Candidates must complete the B.Ed/equivalent from a recognized University.

                                         Or

• Candidates must qualify the Central Teacher Eligibility Test(CTET-II) conducted by CBSE.

• Candidates must have proficiency in teaching in Hindi and English medium.

• Candidates must have knowledge in Computer Applications.

• Candidates must have knowledge in Computer applications.

• KVS eligibility for TGT Science- Must have Botany, Zoology and Chemistry as subjects for Bachelor’s Degree.
• KVS Eligibility for TGT Maths- Must complete the Bachelor Degree in Maths with any two of the following subjects Physics/Computer Science/Statistics/Electronics/Chemistry.
• KVS Eligibility for TGT Sanskrit- Must have Sanskrit as a subject for all 3 years.
• KVS eligibility for TGT Hindi- Must have Hindi as a subject for all 3 years.
• KVS eligibility for TGT SST- Must have any two of the subjects- History, Geography, Political Science,Economics (History or Geography must be the compulsory subjects).

KVS PGT Eligibility criteria

• Candidates must complete the 2 year integrated M.A/M.Sc course from a recognized University with a minimum aggregate of 50%.
• Candidates must complete the B.Ed program from a recognized University.
• Candidates must have proficiency in teaching in both Hindi and English.
• Candidates must have basic knowledge of Computer Applications.

KVS Eligibility for English- Must have English at the Postgraduate level.

KVS eligibility for Physics- Must have Physics/Applied Physics/Electronics/Nuclear Physics at the post graduate level.

KVS eligibility for Chemistry- Candidates must have Chemistry/Biochemistry at the postgraduate level.

KVS eligibility for Commerce- Must complete the post graduate degree in Commerce.

KVS eligibility for Economics- Must have Master’s Degree in Applied Economics/Business Economics/Economics.

KVS Eligibility for Biology- Must complete post graduation in Botany/Zoology/Life Sciences/Plant Physiology/Molecular Biology/Microbiology/Biotechnology. Candidates must have Botany or Zoology as the compulsory subjects at the Graduation level.

KVS Eligibility for History- Must have History at the postgraduate level.

KVS Eligibility for Geography- Must have Geography as the compulsory subject at the post graduate level.

KVS eligibility for PGT Maths- Must have Mathematics/Applied Mathematics as the compulsory subject at the post graduate level.

KVS eligibility for Computer Teacher- Must have at least 50% aggregate in B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science from a recognized University and post graduate Diploma in Computer from a recognized University.

Or

Must complete M.Sc/MCA in Computer Science from a recognized University.

Or

Must complete “C” level from DOEACC Ministry of Information and Communication Technology.

KVS Eligibility for PRT Music Teacher

• Candidates must complete the Senior school Secondary exam with 50% aggregate/Class 12 Board exam with 50% aggregate from a recognized University.
• Candidates must complete the 3 year Bachelor Degree in Music from a recognized Institute.
• Candidates must have proficiency in teaching in both Hindi medium and English medium schools.

KVS Eligibility for PRT Primary Teacher

Candidates must complete their Senior Secondary/10+2 exam from a recognized Institute and complete the B.El.Ed/D.El.Ed/equivalent course.

KVS Eligibility for Data entry operator

Candidates must complete their 3 year Bachelor degree program from a recognized Institute and have a B.Ed degree.

KVS Eligibility for Computer Instructor

Candidates must complete their B.E/B.Tech/BCA/MCA/equivalent course from a recognized Institute.

KVS Eligibility for Librarian

• Candidates must complete a Degree or Diploma program in Library Science from a recognized Institute.
• Candidates must have proficiency in both Hindi and English language.

Nationality

There is no rule as per the Nationality of the candidates. Foreign Nationals can apply for the KVS posts and will be selected only if there are no Indian Nationals on the waiting lists.
