The Department of Industrial and Management Engineering (IME), established in 1974, was one of the first in the country to identify the value of merging engineering and management training. 

This department is now involved in a wide range of activities, including teaching, industrial consulting, management development programs, academic research, and public sector projects. With 22 faculty members, the department currently provides M. Tech., Ph. D., and MBA degrees.

In July 2001, a two-year MBA program was launched. The program, which is open to engineering graduates from any branch, comprises four semesters of academic work with the intervening summer spent on a summer internship project in management in a host industry. 

To succeed in both industrial and management education and research to have a long-lasting impact on management theory and practices in academia as well as in industry.

Facilities of IME Kanpur

Modern computational support facilities are available within the department. Computational support for research and teaching is provided by the System Optimization laboratory. It consists of connected Pentiums and Workstations that form a local area network and allow access to the institute's computing facilities and the Internet.

The department currently has a separate academic facility to accommodate its many programs, and it will work to ensure that all of its facilities—including its 10 classrooms, 30 faculty rooms, computer laboratories, faculty lounge, library, and seminar and MDP rooms—are well utilized.

The college subscribes to a number of national and international journals. It also includes a number of e-resources on CDs and DVDs. It has access to online journals as well. Furthermore, each faculty has its own faculty library to meet the unique needs of students enrolled in their courses.

2. Laboratory 

The laboratory includes cutting-edge laboratories for all bioscience and biotech areas. The labs are outfitted with all of the necessary tools to make learning more enjoyable and engaging. Their laboratories are outfitted with cutting-edge technology such as a spectrophotometer, chilled centrifuge, autoclave, laminar airflow, water bath, gel electrophoresis equipment, transilluminator, and others that would impress any world-class institution.

3. Lecture hall

All lecture halls are air-conditioned and outfitted with cutting-edge technology such as LCD projectors, Personal Address systems with Collar Mike, and so on. Separate computer Lecture Halls with multimedia tools for presentations are also available.

4. Computer Lab

 I.T Lab is fully air-conditioned, with attractive interior design and ergonomically built furniture. The MPS University also offers Internet access via a 56 Mbps leased line. Students are also provided important exposure to other multimedia and presentation aids.

5. Transportation 

The institution operates its own buses in Agra to transport students to and from the campus. The buses are comfortable and friendly, and they have a music system installed. The bus service is supplied to students on a no-profit-no-loss basis at very low cost. MPS College of Business Studies also arranges for Vans in regions where buses cannot travel.
