The Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur is acknowledged today as the prominent institution of agricultural research and education in India. It dates back to 1893 when a small school was formed to convey training to revenue officers.
It grew step by step from the full-fledged Government Agriculture College in 1906 to the U.P. Institute of Agricultural Sciences in 1969 and ultimately to the Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology in 1975. The University was established by coming together of its two constituent colleges, the erstwhile Government Agriculture College at Kanpur and the U.P. College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry at Mathura.
The university initially grew through the growth of each and every constituent college. The target student population is essentially farmers and the goal of the faculty at the university is to provide farmers with simple training for engaging in prosperous and scientific agricultural grind. The University ensures that it provides the best placements to its students so that they can serve the nation.
