Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed platform of learning, located in the holy city of Varanasi. This Creative and innovative university was established by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, in 1916 with the cooperation of great personalities like Dr Annie Besant, who considered it as the University of India. Banaras Hindu University was formed under the Parliamentary law - B.H.U. Act 1915.

It played a vital role in the independence movement and has developed into the greatest platform of learning in India. It has produced many great freedom fighters and builders of modern India and has contributed to the advancement of the nation through a large number of renowned scholars, artists, scientists and technologists who have dignified its portals. 

The area of the main campus of this premiere Central University is spread across 1300 acres, having well maintained roads, immense greenery, a temple, an air strip and buildings which are an architectural pleasure. 

The Banaras Hindu University consist of 6 Institutes, 14 Faculties 144 Departments, 4 Interdisciplinary Centers a constituent college for women's and 3 Constituents Schools, ranging a vast range of subjects concerning to all streams of humanities,social science,technology, medicine ,science, fine arts and performing arts.

Computer Centre 

Computer Center offers services to the University community in computer facilities and enables researchers to get their research data analyzed. It also provides Internet facilities in the University, enables access to World Wide Web, Email and offers laboratory facility to the students of science and technology.

Central Library 

The Central Library of the institute is well equipped with modern facilities and assistance. It is air-conditioned and spacious with a seating volume of more than 100 users at a time. To deal with the scholarly information needs of its users, the library has a strong collection of print as well as digital information resources.

Canteen 

Canteen facilities at the institute provide the students a pleasure of home away from home. The staff of the institute makes extreme efforts to make sure that the food cooked in the canteen & mess is hygienic, nutritious and of course, delicious. A uniquely structured and well helping canteen at premises serves a wide variety of snacks & beverages.

Lecture Rooms 

The classrooms discharge the essence of collective & constructive learning. Their classrooms are equipped with modern teaching tools like LCD Projectors, Slide Projectors & other online information systems. Admission Procedure and Eligibility in Banaras Hindu University - [BHU], Varanasi

 Courses Eligibility
MCA  Candidates must have completed their graduation.
MBA Bachelor degree in a 10+2+3 pattern. Candidates must have a degree in Agriculture, Technology, Medicine, Education or law. A postgraduate degree in any field under 10+2+3 pattern with a minimum of 50% marks in total from any University/Institution recognized by AIU/AICTE.
B.A.M.S Candidates need to clear their 10+2 examinations for getting enrolled into Banaras Hindu University’s B.A.M.S course. 
B.Sc(Hons) Cleared 10+2 or similar Examination scoring a minimum of 50% marks in the total in the subjects Physics, Chemistry including any one of the following: Biology, Geology and Geography and must have passed in each of the concerned three subjects (as underwrote by the Certificate issued by the Examining body).
B.A (Hons) Cleared 10+2 or similar Examination scoring a minimum of 50% marks in the total.

Banaras Hindu University admission 2024

Banaras Hindu University admission 2024 varies according to different courses. Admission procedure for various courses are as follows: 

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) provides admission to the various courses at UG, PG, and Doctoral levels. Apart from this, the university also offers certificates, and UG/PG Diploma courses. BHU provides courses at the UG level such as B.A (Hons), B.Com (Hons), B.Sc (Hons), B.Ed, B.A.M.S , B.P.Ed, LLB, MBBS, B.Voc, BPA etc. At PG level the courses which are delivered are M.A, MBA, M.Phil, M.Sc, MFA, LLM, M.Tech etc. 

To get enrolled for UG courses at BHU, candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with a minimum 50% total marks in the relevant stream. While candidates must have a master's degree with at least 50% marks in order to be eligible for PG courses. Admission to UG and PG courses (except MBA & MBA IB) will be approved through Common University Entrance Test (CUET) organized by NTA. BHU acknowledges CUET UG for UG and CUET PG scores for PG courses. The enrollment will be done on the basis of the merit list released by the university on the basis of CUET marks.

BHU MBA & MBA IB admission is based on the CAT scores along with the GD and PI round held by the university. 50% credit will be given to the CAT Score and 30% to the GD and PI performance. The remaining 20% weightage will be given to academic performance. Admission to BHU medical courses such as MBBS, BDS, B.Sc (Nursing), and BAMS is approved on the basis of NEET scores.
