Students should have qualified for their 12th class from a recognized board.
They selected science streams in the 12th class (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics).
Students should have scored a good rank in the JEE Mains.

The course duration is 4 years for students applying after the 12th class and 3 years for lateral entry. The annual fees of this course from JNU are 1.67 lakhs.

JNU PG Courses:

Post Graduation courses are for specialization in a particular field. These courses help you in your career to get a higher rank and salary. JNU provides different PG courses to the students. They need to apply for these courses during JNU admission through the official website of the university. The application procedure is simple.

The university conducts the placement cell which provides placement to the students. So, after completing the PG course, students will get their first job in their respective fields.

For M.Tech the JNU admission is based on the marks in JNUEE.
To take admission in M.Tech Biotechnology, students have to appear in JNU CEEB.

Candidates should have a B.Sc or B.Tech degree with a minimum of 55% marks.
Students should have to qualify for the JNUEE.
For JNU admission into biotechnology specialization, students have to qualify in the JNU CEEB.

The course duration is 2 years and the annual fees of this course are 12,000 Rs.

For MBA and MCA: Masters in Business Administration is a management course. Students from any graduation can apply for this course. In MBA, you will learn about the principles and elements of the management of an organization. MCA is a course for students who have a graduation degree in the BCA.

A bachelor's degree is required with a minimum of 60% marks for an MBA.
A bachelor's degree that has mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks is required to take admission into MCA.
MBBS or M.Sc nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate is required for MPH.
Students need to qualify for JNUEE to take admission into MCA and MPH courses.
For MBA, they need to score sufficient marks in the CAT exam.

The duration for both the courses is 2 years and the annual fees are around 50,000 Rs.

JNU Admission in M.Phil and Ph.D.:

Students who seek a doctorate in their field choose M.Phil and Ph.D. programs. JNU also conducts these programs for interested students. As these are highly specialized courses, the teaching department is also highly skilled.

A master’s degree in any program with a minimum of 55% aggregate is required for M.Phil and Ph.D.

JNU Admission Dates:

The Jawaharlal Nehru University conducts the entrance exam for admission into various courses in May. The application procedure begins in the first week of March. Syllabus for Entrance Exam:

JNU conducts entrance exams for UG as well as PG courses. The syllabus for both programs is different. This is because the minimum qualification and eligibility criteria for both programs are different.

☛ For UG Courses: Undergraduate courses are for students who have qualified their intermediate. These courses are for specialization in their respective streams. All the topics and concepts of class 11th and 12th are the syllabi of this exam. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics are the main subjects in the science stream.

☛ For PG Courses: Post-graduation courses are for expertise in a particular sub-area. This is even more narrow than a graduation course. The syllabus to gain admission into the PG program is equivalent to your graduation course.

JNU Admission Registration:

JNU conducts the entrance exam once a year. Students need to apply for this exam to be admitted into their desired courses. This entrance test is the minimum eligibility criteria for students. The syllabus and date of all exams may be different. However, to be admitted to any of the courses, you need to follow the same procedure.

Computer Based Test (CBT) is the mode of the entrance exam. In this mode, you answer all the questions in digital mode. For MCQ questions, there are four options and you have to select the correct answer. This model has several benefits for students and the conducting authorities. NTA is the conducting authority in this exam and is responsible for all the activities related to the exam.

At the time of JNU admission registration, students need to mention the educational details. However, at the time of admission, they also have to verify these documents. The important documents required are your mark sheets of intermediate to apply for graduate courses and graduation to apply for post-graduation courses.

Candidates are selected based on their marks in the entrance exam. Your marks in the previous class are also required but more priority is given to marks in the entrance exam. In the case of PG courses, viva voce is also conducted and sufficient weightage is given to it.

Apply for JNU Admission

The application procedure of JNU is online. Students can easily fill out the form and upload their required documents. However, before applying for any course, you need to check all the important information like eligibility criteria, course fees, documents required, etc. The steps to apply for the exam are as follows:

Visit the official website of JNU i.e www.jnu.ac.in/node
Click on the ‘Admission’ option in the menu bar.
Choose the ‘NTA-JNU’ option and a new page will appear.
Click on the fill the application form.
First, you need to complete the registration procedure. It will ask for your personal details and contact information. In this step, you need to create your own password.
After successful registration, Click on the fill online application form.
In this stage, you need to mention details like your address, qualification details, etc. During this stage, you will choose your course. After filling in these details click on the submit button.
The next stage is document uploading. Upload your scanned photograph and signature.
Finally, pay the fees. The university allows you to pay the fees in different modes. You can choose any mode of payment according to your preference.
After submitting the fees, a confirmation page will appear. Take its printout for future use.

JNU Admission Entrance Exam:

The main entrance exam for admission into Jawaharlal Nehru University is JNUEE. But there are also some other entrance exams that are the minimum requirement to take admission into some courses. These entrance exams have equal importance as JNUEE but are only applicable to a few courses.

☛ JEE Mains: This entrance exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This is the main requirement for JNU admission into the B.Tech programs. Several other universities and colleges have this exam as a minimum requirement for admission. This exam has equal importance as JUNEE for B.Tech programs only.

☛ JNU CEEB: Jawaharlal Nehru University conducts its own exam for Biotechnology courses. Jawaharlal Nehru University Common Entrance Exam for Biotechnology (JNU CEEB) is the exam for any biotechnology course.

The syllabus of this exam depends upon the course you applied for. Biotechnology has different subjects that are different from other subjects of the course. So, the university conducts a separate exam for Biotechnology courses. Students need to qualify for this entrance exam to take admission into B.Sc Biotechnology, B.Tech Biotechnology, M.Tech Biotechnology, etc.

☛ CAT: Common Admission Test is the entrance exam to take admission into the MBA program in different colleges of India. This exam is a national exam. Students also need to qualify for this exam for JNU admission into MBA.

JNU Admission Scholarships:

JNU conducts several programs to provide scholarships to deserving candidates. The scholarship helps students to get an education without worrying about the heavy fees. However, it is not easy to get a scholarship. You need to fulfill some requirements to become eligible for the scholarship.

Some common scholarship programs conducted by the JNU:

☛ Merit-Based Scholarship: This scholarship is provided by the University. The minimum requirement for this scholarship is that your parent’s annual income does not exceed Rs. 2,50,000. The amount of the scholarship depends upon the course and may vary according to the rules of the university.

☛ Professor Nurul Hasan Scholarship: This scholarship is provided to the MA/M.Sc/MCA students who have scored the highest marks in the first year of their respective departments. The amount of this scholarship varies according to the course.

☛ Jawahar Bhawan Trust Scholarship: This scholarship is provided to students who maintain at least 5.5 CGPA at the end of the third semester in MA/M.Sc program and a fifth semester in case of MCA program. The scholarship amount is Rs. 1000.

☛ Professor Gouri Shankar Singhal Merit Scholarship: This scholarship is provided to a single student who scored the highest CGPA at the end of the third semester in M.Sc. The scholarship amount is Rs. 1000
