The Bachelor of Journalism program aims to produce well-rounded journalists who can gather, analyze and communicate information effectively in modern society. It is a practical course that prepares students for real-life journalism situations. Graduates can write for print and digital media. Both the courses are related to mass communication and the basic difference between BJMC and BMC Course is that some colleges offer a bachelor of journalism and mass communication and some colleges offer a bachelor of mass communication. There is only a difference in pf name between BJMC and BMC.
BMC stands for "Bachelor of Mass Communication" and BJMC stands for "Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication". Students get confused in selecting these courses. Some students think that these two courses are almost similar and not much different too. So this article will guide you to understand the difference between them and some important common features of the courses which are presented by us for the students.
In Bachelor of Mass Communication, students learn about how ideas are created, spread, and consumed. They also learn about media technologies and their implications for society and culture. Students study mass media, including television and radio, newspapers, and internet media such as blogs, social networking, and video sharing sites.
Both the courses range from news and magazine writing to broadcast journalism, public relations, and photography. Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication and Bachelor of Mass Communication focus is on developing well-rounded journalists who are skilled in the many aspects of modern journalism. Students get practical experience writing about and working with real people in the real world. A big part of journalism education is about thinking about how to discover and verify the news. The curriculum might include training in writing, photography, blogging, print design, and audio or video production.

It is a graduation course that trains students to become journalists. The Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication (BJMC) degree gives students a hands-on approach to their subject with both theoretical and practical training. The duration of the Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication is 3 years and it consists of 6 semesters. Students who have completed class 12th from a recognized education board and scored 50% of marks in the examination are eligible to apply for BJMC Course.
The course aims to develop skills required for a career in journalism as well as information and public relations and utilizes the latest technological breakthroughs in this field. This will help students pursue careers as journalists, content writers, print/digital media publicity professionals, editors, press officers, website developers, advertising/promotion managers, and media managers.
It is an undergraduate communication program that provides a solid foundation in the theoretical and practical aspects of communication. The course is of 3 years and the basic eligibility to pursue a bachelor of mass communication is students must have done class 12th from a recognized education board.
Bachelor of Mass Communication is all about problem-solving. The objective of the BMC curriculum is not just to make graduates with a degree but to develop in the student, analytically trained and competent graduates who would be able to address real-life situations. A mass communication graduate should have the ability and creativity to address any situation that may arise in his day-to-day working life.
BMC Course introduces students to the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to understand and analyze mass communication processes, complicated media issues, and their environments and find local, national, and international solutions to those problems.
Both bachelors of journalism and mass communication and bachelor of mass communication are similar to each other. There is no such difference between BMC and BJMC. If we talk about the fees structure of these courses then there is a bit of difference and fees can differ from institute to institute. Through creating content, students will learn the fundamentals of mass communication. Although they may not realize it at the time, these skills will enhance their own lives and their potential to positively impact communities. This track provides an introduction to thinking creatively and strategically for a specific audience and making things work in practice. Students will be able to demonstrate their ability to do a project plan, develop a communication action plan, execute a short-term tactical campaign and conduct a mid-long term strategic planning process.
The BMC and BJMC Course aims to produce quality journalists who will be able to create, curate, critique and control the flow of news and information in a rapidly changing information environment. The program focuses on training professionals with an appreciation for the ethical responsibilities of journalism and their role in a democracy. Both courses provide the same knowledge to the students, so students can choose any course according to their preferences.
