UPES University Eligibility Criteria For UG & PG Courses

Eligibility Criteria for UG Courses

1. Admissions in some Undergraduate courses are completely merit-based, however, there are other undergraduate courses for which the candidate has to meet the eligibility criteria.
2.  Admissions in BA LLB(Hons), B.com LLB(Hons), and BBA LLB (Hons) are completely based on ULSAT/LSAT/CLAT scores along with Group Discussions and PI.
3.  For B.pharm Programmes, candidates need to have an eligible score in NEET UG/UPESDAT along with a PI round.
4. To gain admission in BDes, candidates need to score qualifying marks in UPESDAT/ JEE Main/ UCEED followed by a Portfolio presentation and PI.
5. To enroll in a B.tech course, UPESEAT/JEE Main scores are mandatory.

Eligibility Criteria for PG Courses:

1. To gain admission in MDes Courses, the candidates must score eligible marks in UPESDAT along with a Portfolio Presentation and Personal Interview.
2.  Admission to MBA programs is based on your scores in UPESMET/MAT/XAT/CAT/GMAT/NMAT along with GDPI.
3. Admission to other PG courses is given based on the merit list.

UPES University Admission Process 2026

To apply for admission, the candidate needs to register on the university's official website and complete the registration process. If you are planning to be admitted in UPSE Dehradun, you need to take the following steps:

1. Visit the university’s official website www.ups.ac.in.
2. A homepage will appear on the screen, click on the tab “Apply Online”.
3. An application fee of Rs 1350 is charged by the college, pay the application fee via Netbanking, Credit card, debit card, or E-wallets
4. Now you will be asked to enter your academic details, Enter the details required.
5. Upload the required documents in pdf format along with your passport-size photograph in JPEG, or JPG Format.

UPES University Scholarships:

There are 10 types of scholarships offered under all the programs (UG as well as PG). The amount of scholarship differs from course to course. These are some basic details about these Scholarships:

UG and PG Course Scholarships

1. B Des students need to score an aggregate percentage of 80 percent in Class 10th and 12th to get a scholar of 50 per Fee waiver in the first semester only.
2. LLM students can also get a 50% fee waiver scholarship if they aggregate 75% marks in classes 10th, 12th, and graduation.
3. BPharm, DPharm, BSc(Hons), BCom, BSc, BBA, and BCA students will be eligible for a 50 percent fee waiver scholarship if they have an aggregate score of 75% in Class 10th and 12th.
4. MSc. (Hons), MA, and MDes students are also eligible to get a 50% fee waiver scholarship for their 1st semester if they have scored an aggregate of 60 percent in class 10th 12th, and graduation.

Scholarships Offered in BA LLB, BBA LLB, and B.com LLB courses

1. If the student secures 1st to 1000th rank in CLAT along with a percentile more than 95.01, then he/she will get a 100% tuition fee Scholarship.
2. If the student secures 1001st t to 2000th rank in CLAT along with percentile 90.01 to 95, then he/she will get an 85% tuition fee Scholarship.
3. If the student secures 2001st t to 3000th rank in CLAT along with percentile 85 to 90, then he/she will get a 75% tuition fee Scholarship.
4. Also, LLB students can avail of a scholarship of a 50% tuition fee waiver if they have secured an aggregate of 75% in the 10th and 12th exams.

B.Tech Programme Scholarships:

The scholarships offered to B.tech Students are based on their 10th, 12th, and JEE Main Scores.

1. If the student has scored a percentage more than 95.01, then he/she will get a 100% tuition fee Scholarship.
2. If the student scores a percentage from 90.01 to 95, then he/she will get an 85% tuition fee Scholarship.
3. If the student percentage is from 85 to 90, then he/she will get a 75% tuition fee Scholarship.
4. BTech students are also awarded a Merit-Based scholarship If they successfully manage to score 80% of the aggregate percentage in their 10th and 12th class in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. This Merit-based scholarship offers a 50 percent tuition fee waiver.

M.Tech Programme Scholarships

Scholarships in the Mtech Programme are awarded based on their GATE scores. If the candidate scores more than 70 percent in the GATE exams, then he/she will be eligible to get a scholarship of Rs12,400 per month, with the continuance condition of securing 8.0 CGPA/SGPA in each Semester.

MBA Scholarships

Scholarships in the MBA Programme are awarded based on their CAT exam percentile.

1. If the student has scored a percentage more than 95.01, then he/she will get a 100% tuition fee Scholarship.
2. If the student scores a percentage from 90.01 to 95, then he/she will get an 85% tuition fee Scholarship.
3. If the student percentage is from 85 to 90, then he/she will get a 75% tuition fee Scholarship.
4. Candidates who have secured a minimum 90 percentile in MAT/ NMAT/ UPESMET or a minimum 80 percentile in CAT/ XAT or any other national-level entrance test, are eligible for a 25% tuition fee waiver in the first semester.
