UPSC IES Exam Eligibility Criteria 2026:
Nationality
- Candidates should be citizens of India/ Subject of Nepal/ Subject to Bhutan.
- If the Tibetan refugee came to India before January 2, 1962, and are living permanently, and will live in India permanently, then they are eligible to sit in the IES exam.
- If an Indian Citizen has migrated to Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, East African countries, United Republic of Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Zambia, Zaire, Malawi or to Vietnam, and if they are planning to settle in India permanently, then they can apply for the IES exam 2026.
Educational Qualification
- To apply for the UPSC IES Exam 2026, the aspirants should have completed their Engineering degree from a renowned Institution or University.
- If the candidates have qualified for the Section A and B exams of the Indian Institution of Engineers, then they can also apply for the IES Exam 2026.
Age Limitation
- The age group of the aspirants must be in between 21 years to 30 years on January 1, 2026.
- The aspirants should not be born before 2 January 1990 and not after 1 January 2026, if they are applying for the IES Exam 2026.
