JK SET EXAM 2024

The JK SET or the Jammu and Kashmir State eligibility test is conducted for the appointment of Assistant Professors and Junior Research fellows in the Union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and the Ladakh region. The JK SET Exam is also known as LASET or the Ladakh State eligibility test.

The JK SET exam is a State eligibility exam that was started in the year 1990 and is set on the exam pattern of the National eligibility test NET. The JK SET exam is conducted once a year in 38 subjects.

Candidates who qualify for the exam are selected for the different higher education Institutes of Jammu and Kashmir.

JK SET Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must secure at least 55% aggregate in the Master's Degree exam (50% for the reserved category).

  • Candidates who have completed their Master's Degree and are pursuing the Ph.D. program are eligible if they get an aggregate of 50% in the Master's degree program.

  • Candidates who have already qualified for National level Entrance exams like NET/SLET/CSIR JRF/UGC need not appear for the JK SET exams.

  • Candidates must apply for the subject (out of the 38 subjects) in which they have completed their Master's Degree.

  • Only permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir can appear for the JK SET exams.

  • There is no upper age limit for the JK SET exams.
