The JK SET or the Jammu and Kashmir State eligibility test is conducted for the appointment of Assistant Professors and Junior Research fellows in the Union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and the Ladakh region. The JK SET Exam is also known as LASET or the Ladakh State eligibility test.
The JK SET exam is a State eligibility exam that was started in the year 1990 and is set on the exam pattern of the National eligibility test NET. The JK SET exam is conducted once a year in 38 subjects.

Candidates must have a Master's Degree from a UGC-recognized University.
Candidates must secure at least 55% aggregate in the Master's Degree exam (50% for the reserved category).
Candidates who are appearing for the Master's Degree final exam are also eligible for application for JK SET.
Candidates who have completed their Master's Degree and are pursuing the Ph.D. program are eligible if they get an aggregate of 50% in the Master's degree program.
