FDDI AIST Exam Overview 2026

Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI) was established in 1986 under the reign of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India. FDDI is one of the prominent academic and training institutions, which is focused on the development and growth of the Footwear & Product, Retail & Fashion Merchandise, Leather Products, and Fashion Design sectors. The institute has 12 campuses.

FDDI plays an important role in conveying education and facilitating the Indian industry by reducing the skill gap in the areas of Footwear, Leather Accessory & lifestyle products, and because of its constant contribution towards nation building, FDDI has been granted the status of “An Institution of National Importance” under the FDDI Act 2017.

The Institute is awarded with reputed certifications and acknowledgements such as ISO 17025 acknowledgement by DAkkS- Germany, SATRA Technology Center- UK, ISO 9001 and ISO 14000 Certification and Bureau of Indian Standard Certification among various others.

FDDI provides you with Bachelor's and Master's degree courses in the areas of Footwear Design and production, Production and Management and Retail and fashion Merchandise, Leather Goods and Accessories Design and Fashion Design. They also offer short-term industry-specific programmes.
