JKBOSE 9th Class Information 2025

JK BOSE is the abbreviation form of the Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education. JK BOSE was begun through legislation under the Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education Act, 28 Aug 1975 (45 years ago).

It is an authorized organization that regulates the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th examinations every year in J&K state. Being the coldest State of India, Jammu and Kashmir have two capitals Srinagar in Summers and Kashmir in winters so JKBOSE’s headquarters are located in Jammu and Srinagar, J&K, India.

They regulate these two headquarters according to the weather conditions. The exam period also varies according to the zones “summer zone” and “ winter zone”, The schools located in the Summer Zone, the final exams of 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th are held in Summer between February to April while the winter zone schools have their final examinations in October to December, Agha Ashraf Ali was its first chairman but now Prof. Veena Pandita is placed in the position of Chairperson.

The board grants affiliation to more than 10,200 schools across the state and employs 22,856 teachers. The board performs several important functions to provide education to every student.

The board also uploads the timetable, admit card, syllabus, etc on the website. Because these are very important for students to score good marks.

Members of JKBOSE (J&K Board):

It is a regulatory authority of school education in Jammu & Kashmir. It is a government body and is run by a group of board members. These members are selected by the education department and they are completely responsible for the functioning of the board.

These are the members who consist of the Board of Member team and are responsible for any decision related to the education policies in J&K:

• Chairman, J&K State BOSE
• Commissioner/Secretary of Education
• Director of School Education (Jammu Division)
• Director of School Education (Kashmir Division)
• A representative of each of the two Universities of Jammu & Kashmir respectively, to be nominated by the concerned University Council
• 2 persons were nominated by the Government, one male, and one female officer from among Principals, Headmasters, and Headmistress of teaching institutions in the State
• Secretary, BOSE (Member Secretary)

What are the major functions of JKBOSE?

• The board is responsible for specifying the courses and forming a syllabus for the courses, to select the accessible textbooks for elementary and secondary school students as well as for higher secondary students.
• The other function of JKBOSE is to conduct examinations for the 9th 10th 11th and 12th students.
•  Publishing Result of Secondary school students and higher secondary school students.
•  The JKBOSE authorities are free to conduct inspections of recognized institutions, ensuring that required facilitates, equipment, infrastructure, and staff are in place, that study materials and textbooks used by the school are approved and courses are taught, and that the standards are maintained with the lawful regulations, the authorities can also remove schools from recognition if they think that the school does not meet the proper conditions; to supervise and control the recognized institutions.
• It is JKBOSE’s key role to supervise and control the recognized institutions and exercise various other powers given to them by law.

JKBOSE 9th Exam 2025

JKBOSE conducts the examination twice a year annually in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. JKBOSE conducts the examination in two divisions Jammu division and the Kashmir division.

Jammu division is the summer division and the Kashmir division is the winter division.

It is a public exam and it is conducted by the board authorities. The question paper is completely syllabus based but the exam pattern and difficulty level of questions are completely different from previous classes. The syllabus will help you cover all the important chapters and topics.
