Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT)

Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology is situated in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. It was established in 1960. The institute is named after the first Education Minister of independent India Maulana Abul Kalam Azad mostly known as Maulana Azad. Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology became NIT (National Institute of Technology) in 2002. 

The institute was established with the vision of becoming a global center for technical and professional knowledge and somewhere it has achieved its vision and is working hard to gain more. The Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology aims to provide technical professionals to the nation who work for the futuristic requirement of global business which can strengthen the national economy. 

Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology is approved by MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development) and AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education). The institute is recognized by the Institute of National Importance under the NIT Act in 2007. The Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology is accredited by the NBA (National Board of Accreditation).

 In 2024 the institute was ranked 65 for engineering by NIRF (National Institute of Ranking Framework) and NIRF also ranked the institute in 15th position for architecture. The Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology offers various UG, PG, and Ph.D. courses. The institute is famous for its engineering courses.

The streams offered in MANIT are engineering, architecture, science, technology, and management. Under these streams, 41 courses are offered by the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology. The Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology’s library is known as the central library. It is one of the biggest libraries in Bhopal. The library is filled with almost 1,14,694 books. There is a book bank for SC, ST, and General of almost 25,000+ books. The library has 3,986 videos and 2,044 CDs. 9 current periodicals, 15 newspapers and 12,100 journals are present in the library.

The institute has its own dispensary facility for students and staff. The dispensary is open all days (Except National Holidays), the timings are different.
