If you aspire to become an Indian Navy Officer in Electrical/Marine Engineering or any other profile, then you must pass class 12th or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects with an aggregate percentage of 75% marks in all three subjects and minimum 50% marks in English in 10th and 12th from a recognized board.
After that, you have to pursue Indian Navy Courses to become an officer.

Earlier women were only permitted to join Armed Forces Medical Services but from July 1992 the branch has started admitting women candidates as Short Service Commission in some branches of the Indian Navy. Now women can apply for the officer post in the following cadres.
