Eligibility Criteria for Indian Navy Courses After 12th:

If you aspire to become an Indian Navy Officer in Electrical/Marine Engineering or any other profile, then you must pass class 12th or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects with an aggregate percentage of 75% marks in all three subjects and minimum 50% marks in English in 10th and 12th from a recognized board.

After that, you have to pursue Indian Navy Courses to become an officer.

Types of Officer Posts in Indian Navy:

Executive: The Executive Officers are an important part of the entire system. They are responsible for managing the ship and using the ship as an important instrument during times of war calamities. An executive officer is trained in various specializations such as diving, communication, navigation, Gunnery, Anti-submarine warfare, and diving. Education.

Direct Entry Scheme (B.Tech) Qualification Required: 70% marks in 10+2 with PCM + JEE Mains Rank
Age Criteria: 16.5 years to 19 years
The merit-based selection is followed by SSB Interview, selected candidates are placed in INS Shivaji/Cochin University of Science and Technology for Naval Architecture.
Combined Defence Services Examination (CDSE) Qualification Required: Appearing in last year or completed a bachelor's degree in any stream
Age Criteria: Male candidates from 19 years to 25 years
written examination conducted by UPSC + SSB Interview with medical test
University Entry Scheme Qualification Required: B.E/B.Tech candidates of last year with at least 60% aggregate marks up to 5th semester
Age Criteria: Male candidates up to 19 years to 25 years
The IHQ MoD (Navy)/DPMR conducts Campus Interviews at various technical colleges across India. Students are selected based on merit in the 5th semester and campus interview for SSB Interviews followed by a medical test.
NCC Entry Scheme NCC "C" certificate holders can join SSC
Qualification Required: Naval wing senior Div NCC "C" with "B" grade "B" certificate along with B.E/B.Tech degree in any specialization.
Age Criteria: Male candidates between the age of 19 years to 25 years
Direct Entry Scheme for eligible Candidates with SSB Interviews followed by a medical test
Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) Qualification Required: 60% marks in B.E/B.Tech in any specialization from AICTE recognized university
Age Criteria: Male candidate from 19 years to 25 years
Online Examination followed by SSB Interview. The final merit list will be made after a medical examination of the candidate.
Special Naval Architects Entry Scheme (SNAES) Qualification Required: B.E/B.Tech Students in  IIT Kharagpur, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Andhra University, and IIT Chennai. Candidates are selected based on on-campus interviews in IIT Kharagpur, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Andhra University, and IIT Chennai. Shortlisted candidates have to go through a medical examination.

Career & Scope For Women Aspirants in Indian Navy:

Earlier women were only permitted to join Armed Forces Medical Services but from July 1992 the branch has started admitting women candidates as Short Service Commission in some branches of the Indian Navy.

Now women can apply for the officer post in the following cadres.

Law Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Law qualifying them to become advocates under the advocate’s act 1961. 22 years to 27 years
