According to All India Technical Education (AICTE) which is the advisory body for technical education:

  • The candidate must obtain at least 50% marks in three major subjects to apply for a B.Tech degree. This means that students need to score a minimum of 50% marks in all 5-6 subjects and 50% marks in the main subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or Biology.
  • This means that 50% aggregate marks in the 3 main subjects are the minimum 12th percentage required for the BTech course. If you are a reserved category student, then you’ll get a relaxation of 5% which means you need to score only 45% aggregate marks in the main subjects in 10+2.
  • According to new guidelines released by AICTE, you are eligible to Apply for B.Tech Admission if you have studied any of three subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • Some other courses with any three subjects from these 14 subjects: Informatics Science, Chemistry, Engineering Graphics, Technical Vocational Subject, Physics, Biotechnology, Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, Business Studies, Information Technology, Biology, Mathematics, Electronics, and Computer Science.
  • BTech aspirants must obtain a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the above-mentioned subjects to become eligible for B.Tech admission.
