BHU is formerly known as the central Hindu college. BHU is a public central university which is located in the city of Banaras or Varanasi. This university has been established in the year 1916 by Madan Mohan Malviya with the cooperation of Annie Besant. BHU is also known as Asia's largest residential university. BHU offers 14476 students for undergraduate courses whereas 9117 students for the post-graduate courses. Approximately 28000 students are enrolled currently with the BHU campus.
