So, those who are planning to go for the JEE Mains must make their registration as soon as possible. The official website to register is jeemain.nta.ac. The candidate must visit for detailed information.
JEE Mains stands for Joint Engineering Entrance Mains, which the National Testing Agency conducts for B.Tech admission. The exam consists of three papers: Paper 1 for admission to the BE/BTech course, Paper 2A for BArch admission, and Paper 2B for BPlan course admission. Here is the official notice of the AKTU that you can check out.
JEE-Main is a National Level B. Tech Entrance Exam conducted by NTA to offer admissions to various U.G. Engineering programs such as B.Tech, B.E, B.Plan, and B.Arch. The JEE-Main scores are accepted by the Top Engineering Colleges in India to offer B.Tech seats to the students along with the AKTU and affiliated colleges.
Why AKTU UPSEE Exam is Replaced by the NTA JEE-Main Entrance Exam?
It doesn't just happen in one or two days. It has been a matter of discussion for years. The verdict has finally passed to use only JEE-Main scores to fill the B.Tech seats in all the colleges of Uttar Pradesh state. The decision has been made to make entrance exam preparations for students easier as they have to prepare for both UPSEE and JEE Main separately.
Most of the colleges have been accepting the JEE mains exam in Uttar Paradesh as earlier aspiring students of B.Tech course in Uttar Pradesh had to appear in the UPSEE B.Tech Entrance exam to get B.Tech admission in U.P. Many candidates have to appear in UPSEE as well as JEE-Mains to keep their options open. But now, this decision will save the students a lot of time, effort, and preparation and will lift the pressure off their shoulders as they now have to prepare for only one entrance exam for their B.Tech admissions.
The exam is conducted twice a year, and if any student fails in the first attempt can easily go for the second attempt. The first exam is conducted in the month of January and the second in April. In case a student has not scored well on the 1st attempt, he/she can make another attempt in April to improve their scores.
It is important for the students to check out the eligibility criteria as without that they will not be able to sit in the exam. Here are the brief details on eligibility criteria you can check them out.

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), formerly Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), is a public collegiate university in Lucknow, India. It is primarily focused on engineering and professional education. For B.Tech admissions for the academic year 2025 , you would typically follow a process that involves entrance exams, counselling, and fulfilling eligibility criteria. Here's a step-by-step guide for the admissions in AKTU for B.Tech that you can check out.
Meet the Eligibility Criteria
For admission to the B.Tech program at AKTU, it is mandatory for all the students to meet the eligibility criteria. If one is unable to fulfil that, the university will proceed further with the admission.
Entrance Exam (JEE Main)
Candidates need to appear for JEE Main, which is a national-level entrance examination for engineering admissions in India. The scores from this exam are used for admissions to various state-level and national-level engineering colleges, including AKTU-affiliated colleges.
Application Process
Eligible candidates, based on their JEE Main scores, are required to register for counselling on the AKTU website.
Seat Allotment: Seats are allotted based on the JEE Main Ranks, choices filled, and availability of seats. After seat allotment, candidates need to confirm their admission by paying a fee or participating in subsequent rounds of counselling for better options.
Admission: After seat allotment, complete the admission process by verifying documents and paying the tuition fees at the allotted college.
The 5% of seats are reserved for NRI candidates. Non-Resident Indians are eligible for direct admissions which means that they don't need to appear in the UPSEE B.Tech Entrance Exam conducted by AKTU. The following are the eligibility criteria for AKTU B.Tech admissions 2025 for NRI applicants:
Or
The candidate must have a qualified High School Certificate Education examination (GCE Examination) with Physics, Chemistry, and Higher Mathematics from Sri Lanka/Cambridge/London.
Or
The candidate must have qualified in the SAT II examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics level II as compulsory subjects.
Scrapping of the UPCET/UPSEE entrance exam for B.Tech admissions has created a situation of confusion for the admission seekers. If you are also doubtful or need clarity for your AKTU B.Tech Admission 2025 or AKTU B.tech Entrance Exam 2025. Feel free to reach us anytime at [email protected]
