AKTU B.Tech Entrance Exam: Earlier before the year, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) used to conduct the UPSEE Entrance exam to provide admissions to the B.Tech course offered by AKTU and its affiliated colleges. UPSEE was also known as AKTU B.Tech Entrance Exam 2023. However, in the year 2023, National Testing Agency scrapped the UPSEE Entrance examination for B.Tech admissions.

Mode of Examination: Computer-Based Test (CBT)

Total subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
Number of questions: 75 (25 questions from each subject)
Type of Questions: 60 (MCQs having 4 options each with 1 correct option) + 15 (Questions for which the answer is a Numerical Value)
Marking Scheme: For Objective type ( MCQs): +4 for each correct response; -1 Negative marking for each incorrect response; 0 for Unattempted questions For Subjective type (Non- MCQs): +4 for each correct response, no negative marking for incorrect answers or unattempted questions.
Maximum Marks: 300 Marks
Language: English and Hindi (All Centre Cities); English, Hindi, and Gujarati (Centre Cities in Gujarat, Daman & Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli)
The university clearly stated in an official written announcement that from the academic year 2023, the university will accept JEE-Mains only to provide B. Tech admissions which means to get admission to the B.Tech course in AKTU and other colleges of U.P state, the candidate has to apply through NTA’s JEE Main entrance exam.
However, admission to other courses such as B.Des./B. Pharm./BHMCT/BFAD/BFA/B. Voc./will be done through UPCET. For the record, the full form of UPCET is Uttar Pradesh Combined Entrance Test. As the name suggests, it is a state-level entrance examination conducted to offer admissions to various UG and PG courses offered by AKTU and its affiliated colleges.
By qualifying UPSEE B.Tech entrance exam, the candidates used to get admission to the U.P Technical University (AKTU) or in its affiliated colleges but since it has been scrapped, the candidates now have to appear in the national B.Tech entrance JEE-Mains conducted by NTA. Why AKTU's UPSEE Exam is Replaced by the NTA's JEE-Main Entrance Exam?
AKTU B.Tech Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria: To appear in the JEE-Main entrance exam which is now considered the new AKTU B.Tech Entrance Exam 2023, The candidate must have passed Class 12th from UP board/ CBSE or any other recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and a minimum of 45% aggregate in Class 12th (40% for SC/ ST candidates)
