OTET Exam is conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha. It stands for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test. It is conducted for the appointment of teachers in private, private aided and government schools of Odisha for class I to class VI. CLearing OTET will not result in a direct job but it will make candidates eligible to get employed.

OTET 2024 Important Dates:-

The online application registration begins in the mid of November and ends at the end of the month

Online registration and application : Nov 12 from 08:00 am - Nov 28 till 11:45 pm

Last date to submit application fee: Nov 27

Eligibility Criteria for OTET 2024

There are 2 categories of candidates category-A and category-B. Candidates belonging to Category - A have to appear for Paper-I and candidates belonging to Category-B have to appear for paper-II.

Eligibility for Category - I: Higher Secondary (10 + 2 or equivalent) with at least 50% marks with 2 years of Diploma in Special Education /Education or 2 years of Diploma in Elementary Education approved by RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India) or Graduation with 2 years diploma in Special Education/ Education or Graduation with 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education approved by RCI.

Eligibility for Category - II: Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1 year of Bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed.)/ 1 year of Bachelor's Degree in Special Education B.Ed. (Special Education) approved by RCI or Higher Secondary (10 + 2 or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years B.A. +  Ed. / B.Sc. + Ed. (integrated course).

Special Note: There is a relaxation of 5% marks for reserved categories (SC/ST/SEBC/OBC) at either 10 + 2 level or Graduation level according to the situation

(i). Candidates who have got minimum marks in 10 +2 or at graduation level, whichever applicable, as given at the time of admission into Teacher Education Course; are also eligible to take the exam.

(ii). Candidates who are pursuing (Final Year) of any of the teacher education courses (recognized by NCTE or by the RCI as the case may be), in both the categories;, can also appear at OTET.

(iii). Untrained Candidates: Untrained candidates, Only belonging to categories SC, ST & PH category having required percentage of marks (5% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks in +2 or Graduation Level as the case may be, for the candidates belonging to SC, ST categories) are eligible.

(iv). Candidates eligible to apply under category –B cannot apply under category-A

Note: The fee mentioned above is only applicable if someone wants to apply for only one category, candidates applying for both need to pay 1000 rs (general) or 600 rs (others)

Documents Required to OTET Application Form 2024:-

Candidates may be required to submit scan copies of a few documents. All candidates need to upload scanned copies of their signature and passport-size photos. The signature must be black in color and photos should have a plain background.

Steps to Fill OTET Application Form 2024

• Go to the website mentioned in the blog and complete the new user registration there.
• During the registration, the applications will be required to enter personal details.
• Upload the photos and signature there
• Pay the application fee
• Take the printout of the application with you for future

OTET 2024 Admit Card-

Admit cards will be released around one week before the commencement of the exam.
