Admissions in Birla Institute Technology (BIT) Mesra, Ranchi:

The final selection for admissions in B.E/ BTech/ B.Arch course is done on the basis of their JEE-Main score, the candidate must have got a valid score as per JEE-Main Cut off, the seat in the above courses will be allotted on the basis of Counselling following JoSAA/CSAB norms.
Admissions in BHMCT (Bachelor of Hotel Management & Catering Technology) are based on the entrance test conducted by BIT Mesra which is followed by a personal interview round. The students who qualified for the entrance test are called up for a Personal Interview round. Please note that the maximum age limit criteria to apply for this course is 25 years, Candidates who are born after 1st October 1996 can apply for this course.
For B.Pharm Course, the institute takes admissions on the basis of NEET-UG or JEE Main Score.60% weightage of JEE-Main score/NEET-UG Score + 40% weightage of Class 12th Marks/ any equivalent qualifying exams. There are several age criteria that need to be met by the candidate in order to take admission in B.Pharm Course offered by BIT Mesra.
The candidate needs to qualify GATE entrance test in order to get admission in B.E/B.Tech/M.C.The GATE qualified students are given first priority during the admissions, the candidates who haven't qualified GATE can also apply, but they will be considered after the GATE qualified student's seat allotment. The candidates who have qualified through Distance learning or Correspondence can also get admission if their course is recognized by AICTE-UGC-DEC.

M.E/M.Tech admissions are based on the academic performance of the student combined with their GATE score: 80% weightage of GATE score+20% weightage of Academic Performance.

MBA Admissions are based on CAR/MAT/XAT/CMAT score. Qualified candidates have to go through a Group Discussion round. Selected candidates will then be called for the Personal Interview round, the invitation for the PI round will be sent through email.
For Admissions in M.C.A Course, the candidate must appear in the Entrance test conducted by the Institute Followed by a Personal Interview.
Final Selection for the M.Pharm course is based on the GPAT Entrance score. Admission will be based on the GPAT score and Academic performance of the candidate: 80% weightage of GPAT Score + 20 % weightage of B.Pharm percentage.
In the P.h.D program, the candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their GPAT/GATE Score and their previous academic performance. The candidate must appear in the entrance test conducted by the Institute, Qualifying students will then be called for a Personal Interview round.

Birla Institute Technology (BIT) Mesra Hostel:

1. BIT Mesra campus has 11 boys hostel and 3 girls hostel. The hostel area is spacious and well maintained, the lodgings are laid out in green surroundings.

2. Boys are provided with single accommodation along with well-furnished rooms whereas girls have to share the rooms with their fellow roommates. In each hostel, there are independent Mess halls that are managed by the students themselves. Each hostel consists of facilities such as Dining Halls, Common Room with provision for indoor sports, Entertainment halls facilitated with Coloured TV, and Independent Mess Facilities.

3. The hostel life at BIT Mesra is a lot about creating beautiful memories as students can participate in various sports and indoor game activities, competitions, and adventure trips.

4. The Hostel Fee of BIT Mesra carries from course to course and it is approx Rs 16,000 to Rs 27,000 per semester. Apart from the Hostel fee students have to pay Hostel mess charges that might be between Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,500 per month. The advance of Rs 20,000. The mess advance must be paid at the beginning of each semester.

5. In addition to mess charges, Students also have to deposit a one-time caution amount of Rs 5000.
