Full-Form of SSC:-

SSC stands for Staff Selection Commission. It is a popular organization that schedules many government examinations for the recruitment of workforce for various positions in offices and organizations under the Ministries and Departments of the Government of India. Exams names are Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (SSC CGL) and Staff Selection Commission Multi-Tasking Staff (SSC MTS) which is conducted by the SSC body.

Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (SSC CGL):-

SSC CGL SSC conducts a Combined Graduate Level examination for filling up Group B and C posts in various ministries/departments/organizations of the Government of India. SSC recruits in the following field like-

  • Indian Audit & Accounts Department under CAG,
  • Intelligence Bureau,
  • Ministry of Railway,
  • Ministry of External Affairs,
  • Central Bureau of Investigation,
  • Central Bureau of Narcotics,
  • National Investigation Agency (NIA) etc.

Eligibility for SSC CGL-

  • Aspirants of SSC CGL must have a bachelor's degree from any recognized university.
  • The minimum and maximum age limit for SSC CGL is 18 and 32 years. It may vary according to the post.
  • The nationality of candidates should have Indian citizen/ subject of Nepal or Bhutan/ Tibetan refugee who moved to India, before 1962.
  • Chest must be 81 cm with a minimum expansion of 5 cm for the male applicants. There is a relaxation of 5 cm for Garhwali, Assamese, Gorkhas, and the Scheduled Tribes Candidates.
  • Weight must be 48 kgs for the female applicants.  Relaxation of 2 kgs is given for Garhwali, Assamese, Gorkhas, and the Scheduled Tribes Applicants
  • The male applicant should cover 1600 meters in 15 minutes and the female applicant should cover 1000 meters in 15 minutes.
  • Minimum 165 cm height is required for the male applicants and 150 cm height is for the female applicants. There is a relaxation for Hill and Tribal candidates up to 5 cms.

Staff Selection Commission Multi-Tasking Staff (SSC MTS):-

SSC MTS Designations are like Peon, Daftary, Jamadar, Farash, Chowkidar(Gate-keeper), Safaiwala, Mali, Junior Gestetner Operator, etc. SSC MTS Payroll Multi Tasking Staff is a general central service group ‘C’ non-gazetted, which is a non-ministerial post that falls under Pay Band-1 (Rs.5200 – 20200) + Grade Pay Rs.1800. However, the take-home salary of Multi Tasking Staff ranges between Rs. 18,000 – 22,000 /month (approximately). The salary can also vary slightly based on location, allowances, and work. Promotions are offered to the employees within a group, based on seniority.  The SSC MTS Grade Pay off increases with every Promotion:

  •  First Promotion: Rs. 1900/- after 3 years of service.
  • Second Promotion: Rs. 2000/- after 3 years of service
  • Third Promotion: Rs. 2400/- after spending 5 years in service and so on up to Rs.5400/-

Nature of Job:-

Candidates have to fulfill the following duties and responsibilities that come with the SSC MTS Jobs:

  • Opening and closing of rooms.
  • Cleaning of the building, fixtures, etc.
  • Work-related to its ITI qualifications, if it exists.
  • Driving vehicles while in possession of a valid driving license.
  • Upkeep of lawns, parks, potted plants, etc.
  • Any other work assigned by the superior authority.
  • General cleaning and maintenance of section or unit
  • Cleaning of rooms and dusting of furniture etc.
  • Carrying important files and papers.
  • Physical maintenance of records of the Section.
  • Photocopying, sending of fax, etc.
  • Other non-clerical work in the Section or Unit.
  • Helping in routine office work such as a diary, dispatch, etc.

UPSC full form:-

UPSC stands for Union Public Service Commission. UPSC is a government organization that is responsible to schedule various Civil Service Examinations in India. Candidates who want to become officers in the central government will have to go through UPSC. This exam is held every year for the recruitment of officers and staff members into various services of the central government. Although it also organizes several other important examinations named as-

Civil Services Examination (CSE)-

  • CSE exam recruits officers for the Indian civil services like IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS, IDES, IIS, etc.
  • Eligibility: For the CSE exam, the candidate should have a bachelor’s degree.

Engineering Services Examination (ESE)-

  • ESE exam recruits officers into the Indian Engineering Service (IES). An IES officer works in technical aspects of the roads, railways, manufacturing, power and many more.
  • Eligibility: candidate should have an engineering degree for the exam.

Combined Defense Services Examination (CDSE):-

  • CDSE exam is held to recruit aspirants into the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Indian Air Force Academy and the Officers Training Academy. It is conducted twice a year.
  • Eligibility: Only bachelor (unmarried) graduates are eligible for the exam.

National Defense Academy Examination (NDA):-

  • NDA exam is held by the UPSC twice a year for those candidates who want to join the National Defense Academy.
  • Eligibility: The candidate should have passed the 10+2 examinations and must be unmarried.

Combined Medical Services Examination (CMSE):-

  • CMSE exam is held for the recruitment of Medical Officers into various services like in Indian Ordnance Factories and the Indian Railways under the Indian government.
  • Eligibility: The candidate should have a medical degree.

Indian Economic Service and Indian Statistical Service Examination (IES & ISS):-

  • ES & ISS exam recruits Grade IV officers into the Indian Economic and Statistical Services.

Indian Forest Services Exam (IFSE):-

  • IFSE exam is for the recruitment of aspirants as Indian Forest Service Officers.
  • Special Class Railway Apprentices Exam (SCRA):-

Full-Form of IAS:-

IAS exams are held by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) for the recruitment of officers for the All India Administrative Civil Service. IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service (formerly known as Imperial Civil Service (ICS)). IAS is one of the most prestigious civil services exams in India. The candidates who pass the examination will be eligible for the post of Officer. They are given important and strategic positions in Central Government and Public Sector Undertaking. IAS position requires a lot of dedication and hard work. After cracking the IAS exam, the candidate gets to work under the Union Government/ State Government/ Public Sector Undertaking.   • Those candidates who have yet to complete the internship can also appear for the Main Examination.

Full Form of IPS-

IPS stands for Indian Police Service which is a reputed civil service in India. IPS officers have rights to control the Ministry of Home Affairs. One has to be extraordinary to become an IPS officer. The IPS exam is held in three rounds-

Preliminary Exam (Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT))-

    2. After the interview, the merit list of the final selection is prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in the main exam and the interview.

Roles and responsibilities of an IPS Officer-

The roles and responsibilities of IPS officers are-

  • IPS officer has to fulfil duties based on border responsibilities, in the areas of maintenance of public peace and order, crime prevention, investigation, and detection, collection of intelligence, VIP security, counter-terrorism, border policing, railway policing, tackling smuggling, drug trafficking, economic offenses, corruption in public life, disaster management, enforcement of socio-economic legislation, bio-diversity and assurance of environmental laws, etc.
  • Last but not least, to guide and control the force with courage, uprightness, dedication, and a strong sense of service to the people.
  • Manage and control the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) which include the Central Police Organizations (CPO) such as Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), National Security Guard (NSG), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Vigilance Organizations (VO) and Indian Federal Law Enforcement Agencies (IFLEA).
  • Communicate and coordinate closely with the members of other All India Services and with the Indian Revenue Service and also with the Indian Armed Forces primarily with the Indian Army.
  • Maintaining peace among the public is one of the most important duties of IPS officers as well as they are responsible to take necessary decisions in their allotted state or district to maintain peace.
  • Provide safety to VIPs. In fact, for the security of Chief ministers and Prime minister, IPS Officers are allotted frequent duties, as well.
  • To Inculcate integrity of the highest order, sensitivity to aspirations of people in a fast-changing social and economic milieu, respect for human rights, a broadly liberal perspective of law and justice, and a high standard of professionalism.

Full Form of ACP:-

ACP stands for Assistant Commissioner of Police. ACP is a reputed designation in the Police department. The ACP officers wear 3 stars on their uniforms. Assistant Commissioner of Police and Deputy Superintendent of Police have the same rights and both work at the same rank in the police force.    

If you want to become ACP so you have two methods of getting the rank of an ACP-

  • Generally, one can be an ACP officer after serving 15-20 years in the police department.
  • Anyone can become ACP officer directly by attending UPSC examinations.

Full Form of PSC-

PSC stands for Public Service Commission. PSC was established in Part XIV of the Constitution of India under Article 315 to 323. Each state has its own Public Service Commission. PSC has similar functions to the Union Public Service Commission. It is a central authorized agency which is responsible for conducting the recruitment exams for posts under the departments of the Government of India. PSC work at both Union as well as State Level.

Public Service Commission (UPSC & SPSC):-

A civil servant is a key to the successful administration of State. The State Public Service Commissions were established under the provisions of the constitution of India. Union Public Service Commission is India’s central agency. The agency’s charter was granted by the constitution of India. State Public service Commission is also a part of the constitutional.

Union Public Service Commission-

The U.P.S.C. consists of a Chairman and a number of members who are selected by the President. The President may appoint an acting Chairman of the Commission if the office of the Chairman falls vacant, or if the Chairman is unable to perform his functions due to the absence or some other reason. UPSC has authority to conduct examinations for recruitment to all India services and higher Central services and to advise the President on disciplinary matters.

State Public Service Commission-

SPSC is set up in each State to conduct exams for recruitment to state services and to advise the governor on disciplinary matters. The State Legislature may inflict additional functions on the State Commission regarding the State Services, local authority, public institutions, or any other corporate authority constituted by law.

Salaries, Allowances, and Pensions payable for members of Public Service Commissions (PSC)-

  • Pay Scale:-  Candidates can get the salary from Rs. 15600 to 39100 per month.
  • Grade Pay:- With minimum of Rs 5400/- Grade Pay.
