TNPSC Group 4 Exam 2025

TNPSC Group 4 Recruitment: The TNPSC Group 4 exam or the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Exam is conducted for the recruitment of eligible candidates for the different Departments of the Tamil Nadu Government. The total number of vacancies for the TNPSC exam is 5255 and the frequency of the exam is once a year. The TNPSC Group 4 exam is a Merit-based exam where candidates are selected for filling up the vacant positions in the following Departments:

• Tamil Nadu Ministerial Service
• Tamil Nadu Secretariat Service
• Tamil Nadu Survey and Land Records Subordinate Service
• Tamil Nadu judicial Ministerial Service
• Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Secretariat Service

The various posts for which the candidates are selected include - Village Administrative Officer, Junior Assistant (Non-security), Junior Assistant (Security), Bill Collector (Grade I), Field Surveyor, Draftsman, Typist, Steno-typist (Grade III).

TNPSC Group 4 Exam Notification 2025

The Tamil Nadu Government will release the notification for the Group 4 exam on the official website that is www.tnpsc.gov.in All the notifications related to the exams will be updated by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission and will contain the TNPSC Exam Date and time. The notification will also contain important information on the competitive exams like the syllabus and the exam pattern.

The expected date for the release of the TNPSC notification is March 2025. The maximum age limit criteria are not applicable for candidates of the reserved category (SC/ST/Backward Classes/Backward classes-Minorities) who have an academic qualification that is higher than the minimum qualification like Degree/Diploma/PUC.

Required Academic Qualification for TNPSC Group 4

• Candidates must qualify for the SSLC Public Examination/equivalent and be eligible for admission to Higher Secondary courses of study or College courses of study.
• Candidates must qualify for the post-secondary courses of study/University courses of study.

Steno Typist 

• Candidates must qualify for the SSLC Public Examination/equivalent.
• Candidates must pass the Public examination/equivalent and be eligible to admission to Higher Secondary courses of study or College courses of study.
• Candidates must clear the Government Technical Examination in Typing and Shorthand in any of the following categories:
• 10 by a Higher level in Tamil or English.
• Tamil in Senior Grade and English in Junior Grade.
• English in Senior Grade and Tamil in Junior Grade.

Typist

• Candidates must qualify for the SSLC Public Examination/equivalent and be eligible for admission to Higher Secondary courses of study or College courses of study.
• Candidates must qualify for the post-secondary courses of study/University courses of study.
• Candidates must qualify for any of the Government Technical exams of typewriting like
• Higher Grade in Tamil and English
• Higher Grade in Tamil and Lower Grade in English.
• Higher Grade in English and Lower Grade in Tamil.

Junior Assistant (Security and Non-security), Bill Collector, Field Surveyor, Draftsman

• Candidates must qualify for the SSLC Public Examination/equivalent.
• Candidates must pass the Public examination/equivalent and be eligible to admission to Higher Secondary courses of study or College courses of study.

Total Number of Attempts

There is no fixed number for appearing for the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission exam. Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements can apply for the TNPSC Grade 4 exams an unlimited number of times.

Work Experience 

Candidates who meet all the eligibility requirements for the desired post of the TNPSC Grade 4 Exam require no prior work experience for applying for the exam.
