SSC Exam Overview 2025
SSC stands for Staff Selection Commission. It was previously known as the Subordinate Services Commission and later renamed as Staff Selection Commission on 26th September 1977. It is a government-based organization that conducts examinations for different government posts and departments, substantially for Group B and Group C. Under its domain, SSC conducts various exams namely, SSC CGL, SSC CHSL, SSC JE, SSC MTS, Stenographer, Constable, CPO, etc. These examinations are conducted once a year.
The SSC examination is usually conducted in three to four stages, namely:
Tier I, Tier II, Tier III and Tier IV. Usually, the first two rounds are computer-based online exams whereas the third round is the “pen and paper round”. The fourth round is field and subject-specific.
The Staff Selection Commission has released the official notification for SSC 2024 on its official website - https://ssc.nic.in/.
The application window opens on 5 January 2024 for different fields and divisions of Grade B and Grade C services. Interested and eligible candidates can go to the official website and apply between the given date and time.

SSC released an official notification on 7th November 2025 on its official website - https://ssc.nic.in/ for the “Examination Calendar” for the upcoming calendar 2024-2025. The application process starts on 05th January 2024. Interested and eligible candidates can apply between the given date and time.
