IGCAR Recruitment 2024: Stages of Recruitment Process:

To prepare for IGCAR Exam 2024, it is very important for candidates to understand the IGCAR 2024 exam pattern. So keeping last year's exam pattern in consideration, here in this article we are presenting the IGCAR Exam pattern 2024:

Exam Pattern for Stipendiary Trainee Category- 1

The selection process for the post of Stipendiary Trainee Category I is based on a written test followed by a personal interview. Here is the exam pattern of the written test:

  • Written Test based on the discipline of engineering chosen by the candidate.
  • No. of questions in the test - 100
  • Type of questions asked in the test - Multiple Choice Questions (Objective type questions)
  • Marks distribution: Each question carries the weightage of 3 marks.
  • Marking Scheme: Negative marking (+3 for each right answer and -1 for each wrong answer)
  • Duration of the exam: 2 hours

Exam Pattern for Stipendiary Trainee Category II/Work Assistant and a Canteen Attendant

For the exam of Stipendiary Trainee Category II/ Work Assistant and Canteen Attendant, the authorities will first conduct a preliminary test followed by an Advanced Test. Here is the IGCAR Exam Pattern for the same:

(i) Preliminary Test

  • Examination Mode: Online 
  • Type of questions asked in the test - Multiple Choice Questions (Objective type questions)
  • Total no. of questions: 50
  • Total marks: 150
  • Marks distribution: Each question carries the weightage of 3 marks.
  • Marking Scheme: Negative marking (+3 for each right answer and -1 for each wrong answer)
  • Duration of the exam: 1 hour

(ii) Advanced Test

  • Examination Mode: Online 
  • Type of questions asked in the test - Multiple Choice Questions (Objective type questions)
  • Total no. of questions: 50
  • Total marks: 150
  • Marks distribution: Each question carries the weightage of 3 marks.
  • Marking Scheme: Negative marking (+3 for each right answer and -1 for each wrong answer)

IGCAR Exam Pattern for Security Guard:

There are three stages involved in the selection procedure of IGCAR's Security Guard job post:

Stage 1: PET (Physical test events)

Stage 2: PST (Physical Standards Test)

Stage 3: Written Test

  • Examination Mode: Online

  • Total marks: 75 marks

Exam Pattern for Stenographer Grade-3 and UDC

There will be two stages involved in the selection procedure of IGCAR Stenographer Grade-3 and UDC:

(i) For stenographers, there will be a written test followed by a skill test of shorthand typing with a typing speed of 80 words per minute. 

(ii) For the selection of UDC, there will be a written test followed by a descriptive test.

Below is the exam pattern of IGCAR UDC and Stenographer's written test:

  • Examination Mode: Online 
  • Type of questions asked in the test - Multiple Choice Questions (Objective type questions)
  • Total no. of questions: 100
  • Total marks: 300
  • Marks distribution: Each question carries the weightage of 3 marks.
  • Marking Scheme: Negative marking (+3 for each right answer and -1 for each wrong answer)
  • Duration of the exam:  90 minutes.
  • Subjects: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, General Knowledge.

IGCAR Paper Pattern for the Descriptive Test:

Below is the exam pattern of IGCAR UDC’s descriptive test:

  • The descriptive test is divided into two papers, Part A and Part B.
  • Part A will be in the English language however Part B will have options of Hindi and English language.
  • Part A will consist of comprehensive grammar questions.
  • Part B will have essay writing, letter writing, noting, and drafting questions that must be written by the candidate.
  • Duration : 3 hours

IGCAR Exam Pattern for Technical Officer and Scientific Officer 

  • Examination Mode: Online 
  • Type of questions asked in the test - Multiple Choice Questions (Objective type questions)
  • Total no. of questions: 75
  • Total marks: 225
  • Marks distribution: Each question carries the weightage of 3 marks.
  • Marking Scheme: Negative marking (+3 for each right answer and -1 for each wrong answer)
  • Duration of the exam:  2 hours.
  • Exam Mode: Online

Exam Pattern for IGCAR Technicial/B Exam 

  • The exam for IGCAR Technician/B will be held in two stages Preliminary exams and Advanced Test. Below we have given the exam pattern of both :

(i) Preliminary Exam:

IGCAR Exam Pattern for Driver OG 

The exam for IGCAR's Driver is conducted in two stages. the first stage is a written test and the second is a Driving test.
