DRDO CEPTAM Exam 2020-21:

The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is an agency of the Government of India. As the name suggests, it is responsible for the research and development of the military. The headquarters are situated in Delhi, India. It was formed in 1958 by the merger of the Technical Development Establishment (TDE) plus the Directorate of Technical Development and Production of the Indian Ordnance Factories with the Defense Science Organization. It is effectively under the authority of the Ministry Of Defense, Government of India. 

The DRDO is a government agency that is engaged in developing defence technologies covering various fields, like aeronautics, armaments, electronics, land combat engineering, life sciences, materials and missiles, naval systems, jets, etc. It is the largest and most diverse research agency in India, dealing with the defence of the country. It includes 52 laboratories where experiment and research work is conducted and tested. The organization also includes over 5,000 scientists who belong to the DRDS (Defence Research and Development Service) and about 25,000 other scientists, technical support staff and personnel.

The DRDO’s first major project was the surface-to-air missile (SAM), in the decade of the 1960s. It was known as Project Indigo. Project Valiant was also developed alongside which majorly focused on Short-Range SAM and ICBM in the decade of the 1970s. Project Devil was later developed into the Prithvi Missile under the Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme (IGMDP) in the following decade of 1980. 

These are just a few names in the long list of successful projects completed by the DRDO. The key measures that make the DRDO effective in its functioning and smooth running are the establishment of the Defence Technology Commission. Since its establishment from the year 1958, the DRDO is one of  India’s successful government organization with many major systems and critical technologies such as Aircraft Avionics, UAVs, Small Arms, Artillery Systems, EW Systems, Tanks, Armoured Vehicles, Sonar Equipment, Command and Control Systems, and Missile systems, etc. It has many success stories to its name. 

How do you join the DRDO?:

The Centre for Personnel Talent Management of DRDO conducts an entrance exam for the students who wish to lead a life of excitement and challenges while giving back to the mother country. The exam is commonly conducted to select recruitments for Technical, Administrative, and Allied Category Non-Gazetted Personnel. CEPTAM is the corporate body of the DRDO which is established as PEACE (Personnel Assessment Centre) to recruit the technical staff for DRDO. It is also responsible for facilitating the values of DRDO alongside training.

The DRDO CEPTAM Exam Eligibility criteria depend on the post you wish to pursue. Since this exam is for all kinds of recruitment profiles, such as Technical staff, allied personnel, etc. The DRDO CEPTAM Exam 2020-21 Eligibility criteria are different for various posts. Educational Qualification for STA ‘B’ Post: 

This eligibility table is for those candidates who are interested in filling the vacancy as STA ‘B’ Posts. These are vacancies in the Senior Technical Staff Assistant (STA) with over 500 seats available.

COPA (Computer Operating and Programming Assistant)

Candidates must possess a Class 10th mark sheet or a certificate from ITI in Computer Operating and Programing Assistant) Trade
