Admissions at IIT Hyderabad follow the standard IIT admission framework — national-level entrance exams with no separate institute test. The key difference here is the B.Tech branch allotment, which happens after the first year rather than at the time of admission.
Clear JEE Main, then JEE Advanced. Seat allotment through JoSAA. Unlike older IITs where you apply to a specific branch, at IIT Hyderabad you join a common first year. The closing rank for General category is around 3,000-4,000. After completing the first year, students choose their department based on their CGPA and preference.
Through GATE score. Over 15 specializations available across departments. The Japan-linked M.Tech programme requires an additional application to the collaborating Japanese university.
Through CEED (Common Entrance Exam for Design). Shortlisted candidates are called for a portfolio review and interview.
Based on CAT score followed by a personal interview. The MBA programme is run by the Department of Liberal Arts and Management.
Open twice a year (July and January). Requires GATE/UGC-NET/CSIR-NET score plus a written test and interview. Monthly fellowship of Rs. 31,000-35,000 provided.
