1. NDA Course

The National Defence Academy (NDA) exam is one of the most prestigious exams conducted by UPSC twice a year. This exam is taken by candidates aspiring to join the Indian Armed Forces.

Eligibility Criteria	Candidates should be between 16-19 years of age.         A candidate must either be a citizen of India,  a subject of Bhutan, or a subject of Nepal.       A candidate should have passed the 12th class from a recognized board. The marital status of the candidate must be Single.

2. CDS Course

The Combined Defence Service Examination (CDS) is conducted by UPSC to recruit Commissioned Officers in the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Indian Air Force Academy. Those candidates who see their future can enroll in this exam.

Eligibility Criteria	For the Army- Candidates must be a graduate of any stream. For the Air Force - The Candidate must be a graduate with Maths,Physics, and Chemistry as the main subjects. The candidate should be between 18 and 24 years of age.   The candidate’s marital status must be Single.

3. AFCAT Course

AFCAT stands for Air Force Common Admission Test. It is an examination conducted for the candidate who wants to join the Indian Air Force after graduation. An AFCAT-eligible candidate can choose from multiple branches they want to join, such as Flying Branch, Technical Branch, etc.

4. Coast Guard Course

The Ministry of Defence oversees the Indian Coast Guard, an autonomous military force tasked with defending the country’s marine interests. For instance, protects the maritime environment or marine pollution, assists various authorities with tasks like customs, assists and safeguards fishermen, etc.

Eligibility Criteria	Candidate's age must be between the age group of 18 to 22 years. Candidate must have passed Higher Secondary with a minimum mark of 50% or 50% marks in Mathematics and Physics. Candidate must also satisfy all the physical standards required.

5. ACC Course

Regular army troops can become officers in the Indian Army by passing an examination administered by ACC- Army Cadet College. Written qualified candidates who meet the requirements can schedule SSB interviews.

6. T.A.Course

As an officer, one can enlist in the Territorial Army. The TA Directorate releases the advertisement once a year, usually in June. The sole place for candidates to apply is online at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in, the official website. Applications may be submitted in this mode only.

7. SSB Course

It stands for Service Selection Board which is an organization that selects candidates for becoming officers in the Indian Armed Forces. There is no limitation to the number of attempts a candidate can give.
