West Bengal NMMS 2025 will take place on December 17, 2025. The NMMS 2025 - 2024, also known as the National Means Merit Scholarship Examination, is West Bengal's state-level National Means Merit Scholarship (NMMS) exam. Furthermore, WBSED (West Bengal School Education Department) organizes it for all eligible class 8th students in West Bengal. 

Based on this scholarship exam, 7250 students in West Bengal receive NMMS scholarships.

West Bengal School Education Department holds the NMMS 2025-24 test to administer the central sector plan National Means Merit Scholarship plan of the Ministry of Education's Department of School Education & Literacy.

Application Process

  • Students should go to the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) website, scholarships.gov.in, to apply for a scholarship.
  • Students must register as new users by entering their date of birth, name, email address, and other information.
  • An OTP will be provided to their mobile phone to validate their mobile number; enter the OTP and begin filling out the form.
  • Students must input their bank, education, and Aadhar details on the NMMS exam form.
  • Upload the necessary scanned photos, such as income and caste certificates and domicile certificates. Ascertain that the papers are in the proper format and size.
  • After completing the NMMS form, double-check it before submitting it.

How do I fill out the NMMS Application Form 2025-24 offline?

There is a big difference between applying for the NMMS scholarship 2025-24 online and offline. To receive suitable support with the NMMS 2025-24 application form, students should follow the processes outlined below.

  • Obtain the scholarship application form from the appropriate school.
  • Fill out the NMMS application form in capital letters.
  • Keep everything clean and avoid overwriting.
  • Students must attach documents such as their domicile, caste certificate, income proof, and mark sheet to their application to complete it.
  • After completing the preceding stages, students must submit an NMMS 2025-24 application form to their respective schools/institutions.
  • Selected candidates must pick up their NMMS Admit Card 2025-24 from their respective schools a few days before the NMMS exam.

NMMS 2025 Qualification Standards

  • Students must adhere to the standards set forth by MHRD to be eligible for both additional scholarships and NMMS. Below are the eligibility requirements for NMMS 2025–2024:
  • Pupils must be enrolled in class VIII and have completed class VII with a minimum score of 55% (or 50% in reserved categories).
  • The applicant's parents' combined annual income cannot exceed Rs. 3,50,000.
  • Students must receive 60% (55% for reserved categories) in the class X exam and 55% (50% for reserved categories) in classes IX and XI to continue the scholarship.
  • Scholarship applications are not accepted from students enrolled in Sainik Schools, Kendriya Vidyalaya, or Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya.

Release of the 2025 Application Form for NMMS West Bengal

The following details about candidates are included on the NMMS 2025–24 admittance card, a vital document: name, roll number, test date, exam time, and other relevant information.

  • Students should download an additional copy of the NMMS hall ticket in case of emergency.
  • It is advised to pick up the hard copy of the NMMS admit card at least three days before the exam day to avoid the last-minute rush.
  • Keep extra Xerox copies of the NMMS 2025–24 admit cards at home.

Exam Pattern

  • The two sections that comprise the NMMS question papers are the Mental Ability Test (MAT) and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
  • Each objective-style question will have four possible answers, only one of which will be the correct one.
  • No points will be deducted for unanswered responses.
  • Every test lasts for ninety minutes. When appropriate, additional time is granted to children with disabilities.
