NID DAT 2025 Registrations without late fee closes tomorrow

The National Institute of Design (NID) will soon end the NID DAT 2024 application. Candidates can submit their NID DAT 2024 application form by 4 p.m. tomorrow, December 5. However, the application form with the late fee must be submitted before December 7th. 

Candidates interested in pursuing bachelor's or master's degrees at NID can fill out an application form on the official website, admissions.nid.edu.

The NID DAT admission exam is divided into two parts: prelims and mains. The 

NID DAT prelims is a written test that includes both objective and subjective questions. The NID DAT Prelims tests a candidate's design aptitude, originality, visual awareness, and analytical skills. 

The NID DAT Mains consists of studio exams and personal interviews in which applicants' material management talents and inventiveness are evaluated.

How to Apply for the NID DAT 2024

Candidates can apply for the NID DAT 2024 by following the instructions below.

  • Go to admissions.nid.edu for further information.
  • Click the registration link on the homepage.
  • Fill out the registration form with your name, email address, and contact information.
  • Next, log in using the credentials you created during registration.
  • Fill out the application form with the necessary information.
  • Upload the necessary documents and pay the fees.
  • Print the confirmation page after downloading it.

Application Form for NID 2024

Candidates can check NID 2024 Application Form information by following the steps outlined below:

  • The registration process for UG and PG courses began on September 8, 2025.
  • Candidates can obtain an application form using the website's online mode.
  • Before applying, candidates must read and become acquainted with the eligibility criteria.
  • Before filling out the application form, hopefuls must first register/sign up.
  • Fill up the application form with all of your personal, educational, address, and category information.
  • Upload the scanned photograph, signature, category certificate (only for reserved categories), and so on in the appropriate format.
  • Candidates are recommended to fill out the application form completely to prevent rejection.
  • The registration form will be available until December 5th, 2025.
  • The authority will also offer rectification services to candidates who made mistakes on their application forms. It will be available beginning December 10, 2025.
  • Take a printout of the application form for future reference.

Application Fees 

The application fee can be paid online using a card/credit card, etc. The registration fee is neither refundable nor transferable.

For B.Des Programs:

Qualifications:

Candidates must have completed the 12th grade or its equivalent in Science, Commerce, Arts, Humanities, or any other discipline from a recognized board.

Criteria for Age:

  • Indian (General & General EWS): Candidates must have been born on or after July 1, 2003.
  • Indian Reserved (OBC-NCL, ST, and SC categories): Candidates must be born on or after July 1, 2000.
  • Indian Reserved (PWD category): Only candidates born on or after July 1, 1998 are eligible.
  • Foreign in Overseas: Candidates must be born on or after July 1, 2003.

M.Des Programme:

Qualifications:

Aspirants must have completed a four-year degree program in any specialization. OR 4-year diploma degrees in Design/Applied Arts/Fine Arts/Architecture after 12th standard or equivalent from an Indian university or institute recognized by law. OR a three-year bachelor's degree in any field.

Criteria for Age:

  • Indian (General & General EWS): Candidates must have been born on or after July 1, 1992.
  • Indian Reserved (OBC-NCL, ST, and SC categories): Applicants must have been born on or after July 1, 1989.
  • Indian Reserved (PWD category): Applicants must have been born on or after July 1, 1987.
  • Foreign Overseas Candidates must have been born on or after July 1, 1992, to be eligible.

Exam Pattern

Candidates can learn about the NID 2024 test pattern by reading the following:

  • Exam Mode: The exam will be conducted in offline mode (the mode may be altered accordingly).
  • Stages: The exam will be divided into two parts: DAT Prelims and DAT Mains.

The examination will last three hours.

The examination will include a mix of objective and subjective type questions.

  • Paper Language: The question paper will be available only in English.
  • Total Marks: The question paper will be worth 100 points.
