The ICMR NIV has officially announced the recruitment of technicians this year. They are hiring 80 candidates for the posts of Technical Assistant and Technician-1. Information about the recruitment process is available on its official site, @niv.recruitive.in, for Advt. No. 01/NIV/TECH/2025. The Indian Council of Medical Research has stated that candidates should apply online for the posts of Technical Assistant Group-B and Technician 1 Group-C.

The candidates applying for the post of technical assistant should be at least 30 years old. The maximum age requirement for candidates applying for the Technical Tech post is 28 years. Age relaxation is provided to candidates belonging to special categories.
The age relaxation for the SC/ST category is 5 years; 3 years for OBC; 10 years for PwBD; 13 years for PwBD+OBC; and 15 years for PwBD+SC and ST. If the candidate is an ex-serviceman, the age relaxation is 3 years after deducting the service rendered from the actual age.
A total of 49 posts are available for technical assistants, and the candidates applying for the post should possess a bachelor’s degree in the related field or branch or a diploma in the related trade.
For example, candidates applying for the post of Technical Assistant (LS) should have a three-year degree in the stream of medical microbiology, microbiology, immunology, zoology, biophysics, or genetics from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks.
The candidates should undergo the following tests and pass them to be selected for the respective post:

The students should solve 100 questions of the MCQ. Each question carries 1 mark and 25 will be deducted for every wrong answer. The duration of the test was 1 ½ hours.
The candidates belonging to the general category, EWS, and OBC should pay an application fee of Rs. 300. The candidates belonging to SC, ST, PWD, or ex-servicemen should not pay any fees.
