Selection Process

The AFCAT 1 2024 (Air Force Common Admission Test) selection process is a multi-stage method meant to recruit applicants for the Indian Air Force's several branches:

  • AFCAT 1 2024 Exam: The first level entails taking the AFCAT written exam, which assesses candidates' knowledge in subjects such as General Awareness, Verbal Ability, Numerical Ability, Reasoning, and Military Aptitude. The exam is made up of multiple-choice questions.
  • Cut-off and Result: Candidates who get the required cut-off marks in the AFCAT exam established by the Indian Air Force advance to the next step. The results are posted online, along with the roll numbers of the candidates who have been shortlisted.
  • SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates are interviewed by the Services Selection Board (SSB), a five-day rigorous selection procedure. It consists of a variety of examinations, including intelligence, psychological, group testing, and personal interviews, to assess officer-like skills, leadership potential, and aptitude for the Air Force.
  • Medical Examination: Those recommended by the SSB must pass a complete medical examination to establish physical fitness and compliance with the Indian Air Force's medical standards.
  • Final Merit List: Candidates are chosen based on their performance in the AFCAT exam, SSB interview, and medical examination. A merit list is created, and successful candidates are given joining instructions based on the number of openings in various branches.

The AFCAT 1 2024 selection process evaluates a candidate's academic knowledge as well as their personality, leadership characteristics, and physical fitness, ensuring that selected candidates are well-rounded individuals capable of serving effectively in the Indian Air Force.
