Manipal Institute of Technology, founded in 1957, is one of the best colleges in South India. The college ranks 4th out of all the private institutes for engineering in India. ABOUT THE COURSE & ELIGIBILITY-
The duration of BE/B.Tech course is about 4 years. Students can choose from a total of 16 engineering streams. Most common streams are Computer Science and Information Technology but it also includes other streams like Mechatronics.
Students must have done their 10+2/ IB/ American 12th/A level or equivalent with PME (Physics, Chemistry, and English) that are mandatory subjects and any one of Chemistry/Biology/Technical vocational subject/Biotechnology as an elective subject.
The minimum average percentage is 50% in the three subjects in which Mathematics and Physics are compulsory.
ADMISSION AND APPLICATION DATE-
Applications are being accepted and interested candidates can apply online on the official website or can write to the address mentioned on the official website.
There are two categories of applicants:
- Indians or General category
- Foreign or NRI Category
The applicants belonging to the first category need to appear for entrance test i.e. Manipal Entrance Test - MET 2019. The selection will be done according to the ranking in the entrance test. The candidates who secure good ranking will get to choose from the stream of their choice. Other candidates may not be able to get the desired stream.
The applicants belonging to the second category will be selected on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. However, an applicant can apply through both the groups (general or foreign/NRI). But the applicant can not change the type of group after the application has been submitted. So all applicants should fill the application form carefully. The last date to apply online is 15th March 2019.
