About NIFT

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) administers the NIFT, a national design entrance test, to applicants for admission to the many design programmes that its participating institutes provide. The following courses are currently offered by 18 cooperating institutes: B.Des, M.Des, B.F.Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M courses. The aforementioned programmes have a combined admission capacity of 5, 215 seats.

Form for NIFT 2024 Application Invitation

The first week of November 2025 is when the NIFT 2024 application form will be made available. Around the same time, the admission announcement and information pamphlet will be distributed. It will include details on the admission process, fees, step-by-step application procedure, seat matrix, and eligibility requirements. Applicants must apply by the deadline if they match the requirements.

Applying for NIFT 2024: A Guide

The following outlines the step-by-step procedure for completing the NIFT 2024 online application:

• Navigate to the "Registration" link on the NIFT admissions webpage. Enter your name, phone number, email address, and any other pertinent information in the registration form that appears. In order to establish a login account, click "register." 

• Choose your desired test mode (CBT, PBT, or IBT), test cities, and five B-Schools on the following page. An applicant account will be created upon registration. 

• Provide pertinent information on the MAT exam application form. To complete the remaining fields and choose a test location, log in. Add files To finish the process, pay the application cost.

• For the OPEN category, the NIFT 2024 application fee is INR 3,000. Still, Candidates who are PwD, SC, or ST only need to pay INR 1,500.

NIFT 2024 Qualification Standards

The candidate must fulfill the following program-specific eligibility requirements in order to be eligible for the design courses that the participating institute of NIFT 2024 offers:

Age	The candidate should be less than 24 years as of 1st August of the admission year. Relaxation: 5-year relaxation in the upper age limit for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
Academic Eligibility	10+2 exam from any recognized institute. OR Cleared Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects. OR Obtained a 3 or 4-year diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education. OR Passed any Public School/ Board/ University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to a 10+2 system OR General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/ Cambridge/ Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate

NIFT 2024 Qualification Standards - BF. Tech

Candidates must fulfil the following eligibility requirements in order to be considered for admission to the B.F.Tech programme.

Age Limit	Maximum age should be less than 24 years as of 1st August of the year of admission. The upper age limit may be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for candidates of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ Person with Disability (PWD) categories.
Academic qualification	The candidate must have passed the 10+2 exam OR A passing grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects. OR Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to the 10+2 system. OR Passed any Public School/ Board/ University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to a 10+2 system OR General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/ Cambridge/ Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB)

NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2024 - Master's Courses

To be eligible for admission to the Master's Programmes in NIFT, applicants must fulfil the following requirements unique to each programme.

Academic Qualification	Undergraduate Degree in any discipline from any Institute / University recognized by law in India or Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID.	B.F.Tech. from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) or B.E / B.Tech. from any Institute / University recognized by law in India.

NOTE: If eligible candidates meet the requirements at the time of seat assignment or admission, they may also apply if they are taking the qualifying exam in the year of admission.

NIFT 2024 Admit Card

• The third week of June 2024 is when the National Institute of Design is expected to deliver the admit cards for the NIFT 2024 written exams.
• The niftadmissions.in website will host the release of the NIFT 2024 admit card. It must be downloaded by the candidate using their login information. Furthermore, the admission card won't be delivered by mail.
• The candidate must bring their valid photo ID and their admit card to the exam centre on the day of the NIFT 2024 exam.
• Information such as the name, roll number, exam date, time, and location will all be on the admit card. The candidate must bring both the admit card and a legitimate photo ID as identification on the day of the exam.
• Please take note that a separate admission card will be sent out for the personal interview and situation test.

How to Download the NIFT 2024 Admission Card Step-by-Step

Visit the admissions portal for NIFT. Select the link for the admission card. A window to log in will appear. Put in your password and email address. Once your login is approved, you can download your admission card.

The Syllabus for NIFT 2024

There are TWO phases to the NIFT 2024 test.

1. Written tests, including the CAT and GAT
2. Personal interview/situational test. Based on how well they performed on the written tests, candidates would be shortlisted for the second step.

Candidates for B.Des and M.Des programmes must appear in both the GAT and CAT Papers. The GAT is the sole requirement for other candidates.

GAT	CAT
Quantitative Ability: Addition, Multiplication, Division, Fractions, Percentage, Rate of Interest, Work, and Task, Ratio and Proportion, and Distance.	The test is administered to evaluate the intuitive ability, power of observation concept development, and design ability of the candidate.
Communication Ability and English Comprehension: synonyms, antonyms, words with corresponding meanings, singular, plural, one-word substitutes, idioms and phrases, correct spellings, comprehending a situation from a given passage, etc.	The candidate is not allowed to reveal his or her identity by marking the answer sheet.
- Analytical Ability and Logical Ability - General Knowledge and Current Affairs - Note that GAT is common for all programs. So, irrespective of the program you are seeking admission to, the GAT paper is mandatory.	Note: Only B.Des and M.Des candidates need to take the CAT written exam.
