Swami Vivekananda scholarship scheme is a benefit for students aspiring to pursue further higher studies without disturbing the financial burden.
It is also commonly known as the Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means scholarship (SVMCM).
Therefore, the students studying undergraduate, postgraduate, MPhil, and doctoral courses can apply to the Swami Vivekananda scholarship program.
In addition, the Kanyashree recipients can also apply to the scheme and obtain the benefits.
Besides the Swami Vivekananda scholarship program, the state government of West Bengal offers some other scholarship schemes too.
Eligible candidates from the minority community can also submit applications for the Swami Vivekananda scholarship.
The state government proposed scholarships to students who have all the requirements to gain the scholarships:
Candidates of class XI to the postgraduate can apply for the Swami Vivekananda merit scholarship. The team will shortlist the candidates based on their financial stability and academic merit.
Those who are pursuing doctoral and MPhil courses from specific state-aided institutes are also eligible for this scholarship.
The beneficiaries of the Kanyashree scheme who are now pursuing a degree in science, arts, and commerce in the universities of West Bengal are also eligible.
The Kanyashree candidates should secure a 45% aggregate in their passing exam. The candidates of the Swami Vivekananda scholarship should appeal from applying for any further scholarship throughout the period. The family income should not go beyond 2,50,000 per annum.
Specific Eligibility Criteria:
After the candidates pass the criteria based on revenue, they are subject to shortlisting based on their academic merit. They are predictable to have secured a minimum of 75% marks in the West Bengal qualifying examinations, and the percentage is appropriate across all the class levels.
The Swami Vivekananda scholarship will vary giving to different class levels. The selected students will obtain up to INR 8,000 for their education.

The students who are having eligibility can begin the application process. Have to apply online, and the committee will pile the applications in descending order based on the student’s marks secured in the exam.
The dispersal of the Swami Vivekananda scholarship solely lies on the availability of funds, and it will transfer to the scholar’s bank account if all the form-filling is correct.
Students can visit the official portal to start the process. The step-by-step procedures to apply for the Swami Vivekananda scholarship online are given below:
• Register by Filling out the Scholarship Form
• The candidates should visit the official Swami Vivekananda scholarship website and should register by filling out the Swami Vivekananda scholarship form.
• After successful registration, the candidates will receive an applicant ID consisting of 15-digit characters.
• They should log in with the applicant ID and password and set up their profile.
Candidates interested in applying for K3 under the Swami Vivekananda scholarship have to fill out an authentication form.
They should provide the given details to complete the verification process:
1. K2 year of application
2. Kanyashree ID
3. Applicant's name
4. Applicant's date of birth
5. Father's name
6. Mother's name
After successful verification, the system will ask the applicants to the registration form, similar to filling out the fresh applications. The candidates who renew the Swami Vivekananda scholarship are not required to register again for the second time.
Instead, they use the applicant ID and password given previously while creating for the first time. If the candidates forget the Swami Vivekananda scholarship login credentials, can recover them using the recovery option available on the home page.
Image and Signature Upload
The candidates are guided to fill up the rest of the Swami Vivekananda scholarship application form and upload the scanned copies of the photo and signature. They should follow the given format and size while uploading the file.

The most important thing in filling out the Swami Vivekananda scholarship 2025 application form is to upload the scanned documents. The candidates should follow the given format while uploading the papers, and the files have to be in a PDF format, and should not exceed 400 KB.

Final Submission of the Application
The candidates can download the verification of the certificate. The certificate has two pages. One page is for the applicant copy, and the other is for the institution. After getting the appropriate signature from the department on the applicant copy, the candidates must upload it on the portal.
Important Dates for Swami Vivekananda Scholarship
The candidates must submit Swami Vivekananda scholarship online form by the last date to avoid rejection. The Minorities Development and Finance Corporation of West Bengal has declared the important dates for the scholarship 2025-26.
