AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) conducts an entrance test for admission for candidates who want to do MBBS. The exam will take place in May 2025. Because of the inconveniences caused like misinformation being entered into the system and others, the AIIMS registration will be a two-stage process from now: The first stage or Basic registration and the second stage or final registration.
In the Basic registration, candidates will need to fill in the basic details and upload the photo and signature. Once the first stage is done candidates will need to wait for the confirmation of acceptance. After the filled details and images have been verified and the basic registration is accepted candidate will get a unique identification number. It is valid for the year for which the candidate is applying and for the next year after that. It will reduce the pressure on the candidate and will make the process more straightforward.
There is no cost for stage I, thus no money needs to be paid for the first stage. Only limited details need to be filled in at this stage. There will be the last date (which will be on the official website) to fill the basic registration and no application will be accepted after that.
The candidates who wish to appear for final registration can do that after the basic registration. All the accepted candidates in the first stage are eligible to apply for final registration. The details provided by the candidates in the first stage will be stored and will be used for the second stage. The details are valid for the next year too.
The second stage is not free. In the next stage, candidates can fill the remaining details such as the exam center and pay the fees, etc. If the same candidate wishes to appear for the exam in the next year can do that and there will be no need to do basic registration again but need to apply for the final registration again. Basic registration is durable but final registration is specific to the year of examination.
Candidates will need to wait for the admit cards. Once the admit cards will be released (expected time: not more than two weeks before the exam). Candidates can download the admit card and appear for the exam.
Only the candidates whose basic registration has been accepted and those who have corrected all the errors within the time limit are eligible to appear in the examination. The approved applicants can proceed with the Stage II registration. Those candidates will be able to get the admit card. So, it is advised to fill in the details correctly.
All the candidates will have the facility to know whether the details filled in by them are accepted or not very well before the time for the exam.
