Group discussion or GD round is conducted to judge the personality of aspirants. In colleges, GD is orchestrated to assess behaviour traits such as leadership skills, analytical skills, divergent skills, communication skills, interpersonal skills etc. As in the game of football, where you play like a team, passing the ball to each team member and aim for a common goal, GD is also based on unity, teamwork, incorporating views of different participants to reach a common goal.
It is basically a group of people who deliberate their ideas, views and opinion on a particular issue or situation with other participants either formally or informally.
