Some parameters on which the Difference between UP Board & CBSE Board Depend

Down below some parameters depending on both the UP Board & CBSE Board are given:

  1. Syllabus and Curriculum
  2. Number of subjects
  3. Reasoning- Analytical skills or Ratta/ Rote Learning.
  4. Which Board is better for entrance Exam-JEE/NEET/GPAT
  5. Tuition hours
  6. Passing percentage

Detail description of the Parameters: Syllabus and Curriculum:

CBSE Board

  • CBSE Board follows THE NCERT pattern
  • Is an autonomous body formed by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource and Development?
  • In recent phenomena related to National Entrance Exam in which Neet (single exam for all medical colleges) follows the NCERT syllabus.
  • Similarly for JEE which is basically to fill B.E/B/Tech/B.Arch/B. Planning, seats in NIT, IIIT, CFTI all the premier institutes follow the NCERT Syllabus.

UP Board

  • UP Board follows THE SCERT pattern
  • Is an autonomous body formed by the State Government
  • UP Board does not follow the NCERT syllabus due to t which students face lots of problems while preparing for the entrance exams Because those people read the syllabus of both State and NCERT.
  • Some Boards like Karnataka, Gujrat, Tripura, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, and UP are some Boards that are not following the NCERT Book but have completely aligned themselves to NCERT.

A Number of Subjects

CBSE Board (9TH- 12TH)

  • Five Subjects Main +One Vocational
  • 5 Subjects (MATHS, SCIENCE, SOCIAL SCIENCE, ENGLISH) + 1 extra language +1 Vocational subject (General IT)

UP Board (9TH- 12TH)

  • Six Main Subjects
  • 6 Subjects (MATHS, SCIENCE, SOCIAL SCIENCE, ENGLISH) + 1 extra language+1 local language
  • 9TH TO 10TH- (Sanskrit/English)-any one; (Home Science/Maths)- anyone: +Drawing

So, students belonging to the UP Board have to study for a longer period as they have 6 subjects to study, whereas,  students belonging to the CBSE Board take less time to study as they have 5 subjects to study which makes a huge difference. By saving their time they can use it for doing their further preparations.

Reasoning- Analytical skills or Ratta/ Rote Learning

CBSE Board

  • CBSE Board encourages analytical and Reasoning abilities in students.
  • The paper pattern is changing for class 10th and 12th to encourage further analysis and Reasoning skills and to stop the Rote/Ratta learning completely.
  • Makes students strong analytically and conceptually

UP Board

  • Completely BOOKISH.
  • If smudged up book completely then can score 100/100 in any normal subjects. You just need to be Rote/Ratta.

No issue arrives in getting passed from both the Boards, but the development of conceptual and analytical ability is much more in CBSE Board that can lead the student to a great height.

Which Board is better for entrance Exam-JEE/NEET/GPAT?

This fall in CBSE marks is due to the change in exam pattern from CCE to the Annual Board exam which is followed IN UP Board and other State Board. Though CBSE students will get used to this board and will come again next year with a leading percentage. The UP Government has also started taking steps towards the career and future of the students by introducing the NCERT books as a syllabus for this academic year. This academic year UP Board has made NCERT books mandatory from class 9th to 12th. Subjects like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology will follow the NCERT Books except the subjects like Krishi (10th Standard) and Business Studies for (12th Standard)

Conclusion:

I hope you got a rough idea about what can be expected when your child chooses any of these education boards for their studies. However, studying under a certain board is not just enough for your kids to excel in their study phase.
