MAT Exam Pattern 2024: According to the latest MAT Exam Pattern 2024, the examination is going to be conducted in a Remote Proctored Mode which will be an internet-based examination also known as IBT or Internet-Based Test. The MAT examination was held from 25 May till 5 July. The September session exams will be conducted soon and the exam pattern is going to be the same and online.

The MAT Exam Pattern 2024 is prescribed by AIMA and the question paper coming in the examination consists of 5 sections: Indian and Global Environment, Language Comprehension, Data Analysis, and Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, Intelligence, and Critical Reasoning. The duration of the exam will be 2 hours and 3 minutes (150 minutes). In this article, we have mentioned all the details regarding MAT Exam Pattern 2024.

As we can see some changes in the mode of examination the exam pattern will remain the same and the marking & structure of the examination will be the same for both PBT and CBT Exams.

MAT Exam Pattern 2024:

The question paper will consist of 5 sections and the difficulty of examination is spread from easy to moderate throughout the whole question paper.

  • Language Comprehension has two parts: Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability. This section includes topics such as Verb, Noun, Pronoun, Adjective, Adverb, Antonyms & Synonyms, One Word Substitution, Idioms/Phrases, Vocabulary, Fill in the blanks, Sentence Correction, Para Jumble, and Reading Comprehension. While preparing for the exam practice reading passages for at least two to three hours a day. Learn all the rules of grammar and try to understand the context and usage of words and phrases in English.
  • Intelligence and Critical Reasoning covers topics from Logical and Analytical Reasoning such as Arrangement, Pie Chart, Calendars, Statement Conclusions, Strong Arguments, and Weak Arguments, Puzzles, Series, Blood Relations, Coding & Decoding, Visual Reasoning, Syllogisms, and Graphs.
  • Data Sufficiency and Data Analysis includes Line Graph, Bar Graph, Caselet, Pie Chart, Data Comparison, Quantitative Comparison, and Data Sufficiency.
  • Mathematical Skills cover Quantitative Aptitude such as Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Mensuration, and Modern Maths. Quant candidates can practice 20-30 questions every day and focus mainly on Algebra and Arithmetic based questions.
  • Indian and Global Environment includes questions from Current Affairs and General Knowledge. To score well in this sections candidates can start reading the newspaper or a monthly magazine

MAT Exam Pattern 2024: Sectional Time Limit

There is no time limit for any sections however there is a certain time within which the candidate must complete a section to attempt all the questions in the examination. Below we have provided the time limit within which the candidate must solve all the questions within that particular section.

New Pattern of MAT Entrance Exam 2024:

Some Important Points for MAT Exam Pattern 2024-
  • Practice reading ‘Reading Comprehension’ passages for at least two to three months, about four to five per day.
  • Go through all the rules of grammar and make an effort to understand the contextual usage of words and phrases in English.
  • For Quant, practice about 20-25 questions every day. Lay particular emphasis on Arithmetic and Algebra-based questions - these are quite common in MAT Exam Pattern 2024.
  • Make an effort to improve on GK, by reading a newspaper every day and a good weekly or monthly magazine. That should help you get a good score in MAT.
