IES Exam Pattern 2019:

IES 2019 Stage-I(Prelims):

➢ The Personality Test carries  200 marks (with no minimum qualifying marks).

Category- I Civil Engineering:

Paper-I - General Studies and Engineering Aptitude for 200 marks, duration of the exam is 2 hours.

Paper-II - Civil Engineering for 300 marks, the duration is  3 hours.

Stage I- Preliminary Exam (Category I) total of 500 marks.

IES 2019 Stage-III (Personality Test):
  • Total Marks: Personality Test will be conducted for 200 marks
  • Personality Test:
    • Candidates who are qualified both the stages of UPSC IES 2019 exam are eligible for personality test.
    • The Personality Test will comprise of 200 marks (with no minimum qualifying marks). The number of candidates will be eligible for the Personality Test will be about twice the number of vacancies to be filled.

Final Ranking: Marks obtained by the candidates in both the stages as well as in personality test will determine their final ranking. Candidates will be allotted various services as per their marks obtained in the exam and the preference is given by the candidates of the various posts.
