Saroj Institute of Technology and management college stand amongst the top engineering colleges in Lucknow. The college was first started in the year 2001 and since then it is growing towards success.

The knowledge is imparted to students by experienced faculty and modern and fully equipped labs. All the courses of SIMT are Accredited by N.B.A, approved by AICTE, and affiliated to G.B.T.U Formerly By U.P Technical University.

Central Library of SITM, Lucknow-

The library is the backbone of every institute. It aims to provide an enormous amount of books, comfortable and friendly environment so that students can spend time and gain knowledge.  

SITM Lucknow: Central Information Center-

The CIC of the institute covers 12000 sq feet of the area. It can accommodate up to 250 students at a time. Various kinds of academic activities are organized like book reading, journals, newspapers, computer programming, etc.

High-speed internet is provided in the library and labs of the college. It is fully air-conditioned and also connected to the intranet.

All the latest books and journals are installed in the library as soon as they are available in the market. Besides this digital library is also installed in the library itself. A large number of e-journals are available to students through subs

Portions Of International Journals Ieee/See Springer Link, Asme, Digital Library, Icfai.

The CIC is open for complete 12 hours daily. It has the latest books to journals & CD ROMS on Biotechnology, Master of Business Administration, Master of Computer Application, Computer Science, Mechanical Engg., Electrical Eng.., Bio-medical Engg., Civil Engg., Humanities, Information Technology, Electronics Communications, Bachelor of Pharmacy, and Master of Pharmacy, Master of Technology ( Computer Science, Mechanical, Electronics).

CIC has a broad collection of books and reference books:

SITM: Services Provided By CIC

The CIC is beneficial to students broadening their knowledge in various fields.

  • It follows the open Access System:
  • An extensive collection of reference books are available in the library. Not only reference books, but the library of SIMT also has a heavy stock of handbooks, dictionaries, encyclopedias on electronics and communication engineering, biomedical engineering, computer science, biotechnology, civil engineering, humanities, mechanical engineering, bachelor of pharmacy, and master of pharmacy.
  • Web OPAC is provided within the campus so that students can get information about the availability of books, status, overdue, the latest date of return etc with the Library Management Software NETT LIB/VIDYUT for Windows.
  • Photostat facility is also made available to students.
  • Central Information Centre is fully computerized. NETT LIB/VIDYUT, Library Automation Software which is an antitheft system. All books/journals are fully barcoded.
  • Document Scanning: HP Laser Scanner of high resolution is installed at every level of CIC by which students and faculty can scan their documents without spending money.
  • Internet: The CIC is fully connected with the internet to provide access to a Digital library to students at any point in time.

Apart from studies, various activities are organized in the college for the development and growth of a student. To stay active and healthy one needs to work physically that what SIMT believes in.

  • A gymnasium is installed in the college.

Eligibility Criteria for Undergraduate Degree SITM Lucknow-

Bachelors of Technology [B.Tech]

    • The candidate should be a 10+2 pass out with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
    • The candidate should have a minimum of 50% marks in the 12th standard.
    • 5% relaxation will be given to the reserved category.

For Lateral Entry

    • A 3-year Diploma is required with at least 60% marks.

Eligibility Criteria for Postgraduate Degree-

  • For Master of Business Administration [MBA]
  • The candidate should have passed at least a 3-year degree with minimum 45% marks.
  • For Master of Technology [M.Tech]
  • must have scored a minimum of 60% marks in B.Tech in relevant disciplinary.
  • A candidate who scored 75% in GATE will be given more preference.
  • Candidate must be amongst the 25% top graduates at AKTU students or first division with honors.
  • Candidate should be First Division pass out with two years experience of teaching/research/industry.

The above eligibility criteria are the minimum requirement for getting admitted in a particular course. SIMT may consider other requirements over the conditions given above.

Saroj Institute of Technology and Management, Lucknow Admission Process 2024-24

For getting admitted to MBA, MCA and B.Tech. Courses, one needs to appear for UPSEE exam which is organised by AKTU. Almost 85% are filled through the UPSEE entrance exam. Rest 15% college seats are filled according to management quote which follows the criteria of merit and these are set by AKTU itself.

Bachelors of Technology (B.Tech)

  • A candidate who wants to take admission in B.Tech should have passed 10+2 from a recognised board.
  • Candidate must have scored at least 45% marks overall.
  • Minimum 40% marks in each subject as mentioned in SEE AKTU Boucher.
  • 5% relaxation will be given to reserved category.

Bachelors of Technology Lateral Entry (B.Tech)

  • Candidate must have scored 60% marks in a 3-year engineering diploma.
  • A degree in B.Sc with mathematics as compulsory will also be considered.
  • Candidate should have scored 60% marks in B.Sc and 40% in maths individually.
  • 5% relaxation will be given to students.

Master Of Business Administration (M.B.A)

  • Candidate should have 45% as aggregate in a 3-year degree in any discipline from any recognised university.
  • Candidates who belong from reserved category will be given 5% relaxation.

Master Of Computer Application (M.C.A)

  • For getting admitted in MCA candidate must have passed a 3-year degree in any course from any recognised university.
  • Minimum marks required in the 3-year course are 45%.
  • Minimum 40% marks required in Mathematics at 10+2 level.
  • 5% relaxation will be given to reserved category.

The hostels of SIMT are self-sufficient as all the basic facilities are provided to students like a reading room, a common room for indoor games, a TV room, a lounge, and a dining hall with a mess. The computer rooms are under control. Wardens are available for all hours and always keep an eye on hostlers.

They make students feel at home, students can directly walk to them in case of any help and guidance. Free internet facility is provided so that students don’t face any hindrance in studies.

There is a Board for Hostel Management (B.H.M) is an authority that is a part of the Student Affairs Council (S.A.C). The BHM manages the hostel. Be it policy formulation, coordination, or reviews on issues related to the management of the hostel. BHM keeps an eye on the management of the hostel. It is responsible for the rules of B.H.M. as also the Constitution of  (House Working Committees).

SITM Lucknow Hostel Rules

  • Whenever a student comes back to the hostel he/she will have to inform either Wardens or any other authority. He/she can have possession of the room only after signing the list of furniture, electrical and other items.
  • Whenever the session ends the students must inform the Wardens and hand over the keys of the room to them along with all the furniture mentioned in the list. Any student who wishes to vacate the hostel needs to inform the hostel authority beforehand.
  • If any student is found fighting, spreading violation, drunken or causing damage to the property of the institute will be the culprit and strict action will be taken immediately.
  • Gambling, Alcoholic beverages, smoking, and the use of narcotics are not allowed in the hostel.
  • One can use audio equipment only when other residents agree with it.
  • For a hostler, it is mandatory to inform the warden if any guest has to stay overnight with him/her. The House secretary or the warden has the authority to deny the permit if needed. If the guest of a hostler has to stay for five days then he/she has to take prior permission. If a guest has to stay for a long period then he/she has to take permission from the Dean of Students/Associate Dean of Students.
  • The Hostel dues shouldn’t be kept pending and shall be paid on time as per BHM.

For Male Students-

  • Parents and male friends of a male hostler can visit his room.
  • If a warden allows only then a student’s lady family member can visit in his room.
  • If a non-family visitor has to meet the hostler then they can meet in the visitor’s room from 8.00 am to 8.00 p.m.

For Female Students-

  • All the students residing in the hostel should return to the hostel by 8:30 p.m. If they have some work related to studies then they can stay in laboratories, computer science lab, and library till 11.00 p.m.
  • If in case any hostler has to work in laboratories even after 11.00 p.m then he/she has to make an entry in the register mentioning: name of the laboratory/computer center, time of leaving the hostel and expected time of return to the hostel. When the hostler will return home he/she will have to make entry again in the same register mentioning the actual return time.
  • To stay out after 11.00 p.m for any purpose then he/she has to take permission in advance.
  • Residents who are in 1st year aren’t allowed to stay out of the hostel after 9.00 p.m. without the permission of the wardens and mentioning the details in the register.
